Plateau 2019: Gov. Lalong set to defeat Gen. Useni to retain seat – media aide

By Golok Nanmwa ,Jos

Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to Governor Simon Lalong on Media affairs Mark Longyen, on Saturday said that Lalong is set to defeat the PDP Governorship Candidate, Gen. Jeremiah Useni in the 2019 polls to retain his seat.

Useni had during the inauguration of PDP 41-Member Campaign Council, said that the people of Plateau were disappointed and tired of the leadership style of Lalong and were yearning for a change of government and return of PDP.

The PDP Governorship candidate had claimed that the Plateau people couldn’t wait any longer “to get rid of a leadership that has turned against them and betrayed their trust. I can see that our people have never been so united and unanimous in their resolve to usher in good governance and restore the state’s past glory.’’

According to him, “there is no better time as this to be part of the team that will enforce the quit notice served by the people on the present administration/’’

But Longyen, in a chat with newsmen in Jos, described the claim by PDP that Plateau people are fade up with the Lalong’s and APC administration as “great fallacy’’ of our time.

The SSA said all the opposition were out to do was to see how they could pull down the Lalong administration by engaging in various “unwholesome and unholy means that are baseless and fruitless.’’

“Our successes as APC led administration have made them to develop goose pimples, so as the weaker party in this political contest, they latch on every straw to gain relevance.

“The truth is that they have nothing new to offer and the people are aware of their antecedents, antics and intrigues and they will never want to return to Egypt, which is synonymous with the old PDP, ’’ he said.

Longyen further claimed, “Lalong has performed exceedingly well. The records speak for themselves and the people of Plateau are with him come 2019.’’
“Governor Lalong is set to defeat the retired Genera (Useni).’’

According to him, APC did not expect the opposition parties to sing their praise because “all they are doing is to rubbish all our achievements, which are but efforts in futility.’’
