Youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State have been urged to prioritize rebuilding, reuniting, and re-strategizing for a more robust political future.

This call was made during the APC Youth Summit held at Crest Hotel, Jos, which brought together party stakeholders, leaders, and energetic youths from across the state.

Themed “The Role of Youth in Rebuilding, Reuniting, and Re-strategizing for a Stronger APC”, the summit focused on fostering unity and inclusion while reassessing strategies to advance the party’s goals. Panel discussions and keynote addresses highlighted the pivotal role of youths in shaping the APC’s vision and future success.

Hon. Rufus Bature, the APC State Chairman, stressed the importance of electing leaders with merit and integrity. “Youths must hold leaders accountable and ensure that those elected are true servant leaders with proven records of performance. Electing leaders who lack merit undermines development,” he said.

Hon. Bature also condemned divisive online conflicts among party members, urging a united effort to hold leaders accountable for their campaign promises.

Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, Chairman of the House Committee on Navy and representative of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, lauded the summit’s organizers for their initiative. “The energy and vision of our youth are crucial in ensuring our party thrives and delivers on its promises,” he said, affirming the APC as the best platform to advance progress in Plateau State and Nigeria.

George Lambert, Chairman of the APC Patriotic Youth Front, outlined the summit’s objectives. “This is the first APC Youth Summit, and its purpose is clear: rebuilding, re-strategizing, and fostering unity. This initiative lays the foundation for future victories and stronger governance,” he said.

A panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Fabong Jimchang, explored strategies to overcome challenges faced by young politicians, such as economic barriers and disunity. Dr. Jimchang emphasized the importance of open-mindedness and mutual respect among youths to create a formidable political movement. “We must prioritize unity, believe in the party’s ideology, and strategize effectively to drive meaningful progress,” he remarked.

Hon. Owen Karyit Dagogot, Member representing Qua’an Pan North Constituency, appealed for forgiveness and reconciliation among the youth. “The future of our party and state lies in your hands. Let’s put aside past grievances and work together to build a prosperous future,” he urged.

Hon. Dagogot expressed optimism that the renewed sense of purpose exhibited at the summit would significantly contribute to the APC’s growth. He encouraged youths to foster inclusivity and respect to rebuild and strengthen the party.

The summit concluded with a commitment to making this engagement an ongoing process. It aims to serve as a platform for fostering collaboration, unity, and strategic development, ensuring the APC’s relevance and success in future elections.

The event underscored the transformative power of youth in politics and reaffirmed the APC’s dedication to empowering the next generation of leaders for a stronger Plateau State and Nigeria.
