Coalition for Better and Brighter Nigerian has lamented the spate of attacks on communities in Plateau state and urged the Federal Government to do everything possible to tackle it .
Convener of the group ,Prophet Isa el Buba made this known while addressing journalist in Jos .
He said ” The group finds it imperative at this time to wade in on the unfortunate resurgence of blood bath and we’ll organized killings in especially villages in Mangu ,Riyom ,Barkin Ladi ,Bokkos and Jos South local government councils of Plateau state .”
In his words “In the last four months ,close to a thousand persons ,most of them Women and children have been massacred and butchered in cold blood by terrorists during overnight unprovoked attacks and their houses burnt down , including foodstuffs,food barns and seedlings,the economic impact of these destructions can not be contemplated ,they already run into billions of dollars .”
The CBBN strongly condemns this barbaric , despicable and heart wrenching killings and destructions .
He added that ” While commending the considerable efforts of the security stakeholders in the state ,I put it to security and defense formations that they are not doing enough,You may say you are doing your best but it is obviously not good enough ,since it is not able to halt the killings and fish out perpetrators ,I therefore call on all security operatives in the state to redouble and accelerate efforts in rolling back this genocide been carried out on the Plateau , unhindered ,Your proactiveness and gallantry should be seen in the foregoing ,abating the ongoing killings with your rapid response frontal defensive on terrorists elements and their sponsors to Nigerians .”
He called on all Communities to remain sensitive and share timely actionable intelligence with boots on ground ,I reteriate that citizens must devise to defend themselves in the face of unwarranted Provocation from alien terrorist elements to uphold the inalienable right to life .
” All hands must be on deck to defeat this ongoing onslaught of innocent citizens on the Plateau .”
The Prophet further said his group is committed to raising awareness , collaborations with local organisations , government bodies and international partners who are working towards peace and security in Plateau state .
“By fostering partnership aimed ,we aim to pool resources a d expertise to address this outright terrorism”.
“We would engage in advocacy efforts ,both locally and globally to draw attention to the urgent need for more action against terrorism in Nigeria especially in Plateau state ,we would collaborate with relevant stakeholders to encourage government and international organizations to prioritize violence prevention , security and stabilization in the region as well as policy and security reform .”
