Plateau Commissioner Ramnap Affirms Gov Mutfwang’s Commitment to Development

By Israel Adamu,Jos

Plateau State Commissioner for Information and Communication, RT Hon Joyce Ramnap Mni on Monday said the adminstration of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang is focused on bringing massive development to the state .

She also assured residents of massive dividends of democracy to the grassroots as Governor Mutfwang’s administration continues to unveil projects across local government areas.

Hon Ramnap made this known while speaking on Peace FM 90 .5 radio in Jos .

In her words “The Caleb Mutfwang led administration has been able to build trust among the people of Plateau State and the outside world “.

“I like to look at the level of economic growth that is taking shape on the Plateau. Recently, we have gotten some concessions. If you pass through Plateau Hotel, you will see that a lot is going on there. Recently, the roofs have been brought down for restructuring, with plans to redevelop and breathe new life into Plateau Hotel. “

Now, for me, it’s a PPP project that people are investing in because they believe in the leadership of Governor Caleb Mutfwang.

“I must tell you, nobody will invest in a state where there is no progress, stability, or assurance that their investment will be secured, The fact that these activities are happening means people have confidence in the Plateau economy and are willing to invest. “

The governor’s passion is also on agriculture and he has spoken about it in different forums.

This is an area where Plateau State can position itself on Nigeria’s map by investing more in agriculture.

She added that ” Just two weeks ago, the Executive Council approved the procurement of 6,300 tons of assorted fertilizers for Plateau farmers.”

” The Ministry of Agriculture, in its wisdom, has carried out a mapping of the state to register farmers in a database, These registered farmers will be supported with farming inputs and fertilizers, especially at subsidized rates. “

” The essence of this initiative is to ensure that Plateau State farmers have direct access to subsidized fertilizers.”

” They will no longer have to purchase through third parties, which will help curb corruption and prevent diversion. Instead, the fertilizers will be distributed directly to farmers. For us on the Plateau, this is a step toward economic development. “

Hon Ramnap also said ” in infrastructural development, the government has revisited and restarted several abandoned projects from 2013, There are too many to list here, but across the three senatorial zones, many projects are ongoing. For instance, in Rukuba, Miango, Farin Lamba, Busabuja, and Kent Academy, a 55.23 km road project is in progress.

“There is also the Jibam-Dukang-Kasuwan Baap road project. “

“A major component of this project is the expansion of a critical bridge that previously had only one lane, causing traffic congestion. The administration is doubling the bridge to ensure smooth traffic flow. In total, road projects covering about 300 km are ongoing.

The commissioner added that ” Another key area in infrastructural development is addressing the water crisis. While water scarcity is a global challenge due to climate change and desertification, the Plateau State Government has taken measures to mitigate the issue. It is aware that many people currently face water shortages and has approved the procurement of water tankers. Soon, the governor will launch these tankers to distribute water within Jos-Bukuru metropolis.

Additionally, about 300 boreholes across the state, which have deteriorated over time, will be rehabilitated. There are also plans to introduce digitized boreholes to improve water supply. While water scarcity cannot be solved overnight, these measures will significantly ease the burden. This administration is not yet two years old, but if we were to list its achievements, time would not permit us to go through them all. However, the governor is touching every sector.

She also said Security is paramount to the Bar Caleb Mutfwang led administration.

“You and I can attest that there is relative peace on the Plateau, at the start of his administration, the governor revived Operation Rainbow, which had been in decline, as part of the revival, 600 personnel were trained in intelligence gathering and early warning systems.”

” Operation Rainbow has also set up a State Security Information Center with hotlines for people to report security concerns.,she further added .
