Hon. Daiyabu Dauda, Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (PSMPWB), has congratulated Governor Caleb Mutfwang and the newly elected local government chairmen and councilors on their resounding victory in the recently concluded October 9th local government elections.
Describing the election as a “watershed moment” in Plateau State’s history, Hon. Dauda praised Governor Mutfwang’s leadership and commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections. “This election marks a significant milestone, as it is the first time the citizens’ voices have been truly heard in the last eight years of the APC administration in the state,” he stated.
According to Hon. Dauda, this marks a new era of transparency and accountability. He noted that Governor Mutfwang’s vision for a better and united Plateau has inspired hope among citizens.
His non-interference in the electoral process demonstrates his dedication to democratic ideals, and Plateau State has now become a beacon of hope for Nigeria, showcasing the possibility of conducting credible and trustworthy elections.
Hon. Dauda also commended the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), under the leadership of Mr. Plangji Cishak, for conducting a seamless and transparent election process. “PLASIEC’s professionalism has strengthened democracy in the state,” he remarked.
He described the introduction of the Voters Verification Software (VVS) by PLASIEC as a game-changer, stating that it has revolutionized electoral processes in Plateau State. He insisted that this innovative technology ensured the accuracy of voter information, prevented electoral malpractices, and promoted transparency.
Hon. Dauda further congratulated the 17 newly elected chairmen and 325 councilors on their well-deserved victories, attributing their success to their dedication to serving the people. “As you begin your tenure, remember the trust bestowed upon you by the citizens. May your leadership bring prosperity, unity, and progress to Plateau State,” he urged.
He called on Plateau citizens to sustain the peace currently enjoyed in the state and to support the “The Time Is Now” administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang for the progress and development of Plateau State.
