Plateau LGA Polls: Operation Rainbow Pledges Peaceful, Secure Election

By Israel Adamu, Jos

Plateau State’s security outfit, Operation Rainbow, has issued a stern warning to potential troublemakers and political thugs, declaring that it will not tolerate any form of electoral violence or disruption during the upcoming Local Government Elections in the state.

In a statement released Wednesday and signed by Brig.-Gen. Gakji Shipi (rtd.), the organization’s coordinator reiterated its commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for the elections.

“We have deployed personnel to strategic locations and potential flashpoints, who are well-equipped to address any security concerns,” the statement read.

Operation Rainbow also outlined key guidelines for the public to follow, urging citizens to comply with security personnel, avoid incitement to violence, and report suspicious activities to its emergency hotlines at 080000223344.

The organization warned that any individual or group found perpetrating violence or disrupting the electoral process would face swift and severe consequences. “We will not hesitate to take decisive action against anyone who threatens the peace and security of our state,” the statement warned.

“Let’s work together for peaceful, credible, and fair elections,” the statement concluded.
