Plateau Speaker Hon Dewan empowers over 1,000 constituents to boost their businesses , reiterates proper representation

No fewer than 1,000 residents of Pankshin North Constituency in Plateau State have benefitted from the empowerment programme of the Speaker of the state assembly Hon Gabriel Dewan.

The empowerment scheme was launched in the constituency by Speaker Dewan to empower the downtrodden with financial donations to improve their business activities .

Speaker Dewan said his goal is always to put smiles on the faces of his constituents by assisting and encouraging them to venture into businesses no matter how small it is.

Our correspondent reports that the beneficiaries were drawn from several communities of the constituency, with zero ethnic, religious or gender sentiment.

Also several community bodies and associations benefited from the empowerment and donations including
Market women and artisans.

The Honorable speaker pleaded that those that could not benefit from the recent empowerment would be considered in other similar programmes.

“We should remain positive and determined to better the living conditions of our people,as more opportunities are coming. ”

One of the beneficiaries, Nengak Goshit showered his encomium on their lawmaker for counting them worthy to be empowered ,while another beneficiary, Nenlap Bitrus hailed the kind gesture of Speaker Dewan.

Dewan who spoke at the occasion urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity.

“I implore you to make good use of this opportunity for your growth and development of the community,” he said.

Speaker Dewan also pledged to provide quality representation as well as empower more members of his constituency.

He pledged to continue to partner with the Executive arm of the state to better the lives of citizens of Plateau state.
