Police rout criminals operating in Adamawa/Cameroon border communities

Adamawa State police command under the auspices of operation Puff Adder II, has successfully dislodged criminal hideouts at Lamunde hill and national park communities sharing borders with Cameroon republic. 

The police also recovered Cameroon national flag, nine sets of Cameroon military camouflage uniform, one motorcycle and other items being used by the fleeing criminals.

A statement by the command’s image maker, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said, ” on the 19/3/2021, the command  disconnected the criminal networks connecting part of Cameroon Republic and Southern part of Adamawa state.”

Nguroje said the operation was carried out by operatives of Toungo division in conjunction with the special hunters of Pulaaku association at Lamunde hill situated at a remote side of national park, in Toungo local government.

” It is the outcome of successful follow-ups on cases bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, unlawful possession of firearms, amongst others,” the police said.

According to the statement, the  commissioner of police, Aliyu Adamu Alhaji while commending DPO Toungo and his men for the gallant performance, equally assured the good people of Toungo and Adamawa State, the command’s commitment to keep the state safe.
