Police Warn of ‘One-Chance’ Robbers on Ogun Road

The Ogun State Police Command has issued a warning about a notorious ‘one-chance’ robbery gang operating along the Sagamu-Ijebu Ode to Mowe expressway. This alert was shared by the command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, via her X handle on Thursday.

Odutola reported that the command has been inundated with complaints from residents. One such incident involved a victim who was robbed of N700,000 at gunpoint after entering a car from Kajola on Wednesday. The victim was forced to transfer the money into a POS machine after being driven into a side street.

The police are advising traders and business owners to avoid traveling with large sums of cash due to the risks involved. Commuters are also encouraged to record videos of their journeys and share them with the police if they have concerns about the vehicle they are in.

Odutola emphasized the importance of vigilance: “The Ogun State Police Command has received numerous complaints about this notorious gang operating between Sagamu, Ijebu Ode, and Mowe. If you’re unsure about a vehicle, make a video of your trip and upload it to our media channels.”

The police investigation into these incidents is ongoing.
