President Tinubu Calls Emergency Security Meeting Amid Nationwide Protests

By  Milcah   Tanimu

President Bola Tinubu has convened an urgent meeting with security chiefs at Aso Rock, the Presidential Villa, in response to the widespread protests gripping the nation. The emergency meeting takes precedence over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) session originally scheduled for Monday afternoon.

Ministers who arrived for the FEC meeting were seen leaving the Council Chambers around noon, with only a few remaining due to the rescheduling.

Presidency sources indicate that the security meeting is likely addressing the ongoing protests demanding an end to poor governance and economic difficulties. President Tinubu had previously urged protesters to halt their demonstrations and engage in dialogue during a nationwide broadcast on Sunday morning.
