Progressive Youth Movement of Nigeria Mourns Former President Buhari

…Extols His Legacy of Patriotism and Service

By Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto

The Progressive Youth Movement of Nigeria (PYMN) has expressed deep sympathy and sorrow to all Nigerians—especially the Presidency and the family of former President Muhammadu Buhari—over his passing.

In a press statement signed by the National President of the organization, Mr. Wonigwe Chibuike Godwin, the group described Buhari as a patriotic and selfless leader whose legacy will be remembered for generations.

“President Buhari left behind enduring legacies, particularly his fight against indiscipline and corruption, as well as his deep commitment to patriotism and national service,” the statement read.

The group further described the late president as an elder statesman and a courageous leader who made immense sacrifices for the survival and unity of Nigeria.

“The death of Buhari has left a vacuum that may take many years to fill,” it added.

PYMN emphasized Buhari’s role in fostering national unity and noted that his legacy of practicing politics without bitterness is worthy of emulation by today’s leaders.

“In view of his contributions, we call on all Nigerian leaders to emulate his values for the betterment and prosperity of the nation,” the statement urged.

The organization concluded by praying for the former president’s family:

“May the Almighty God grant his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss, and may his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
