38th edition of the Ramat International Cup championship sponsored by Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) zoomed into the quarter finals stages on Monday as Rivers State team lead the pack of qualifiers to book their place.
The competition which witnessed firework on the part of the teams saw Ogun, Oyo, Kwara, Kaduna, Kogi, Bauchi and Ekiti States also book their spots.
The quarter finals will hold at Mahaha Sports Complex with all the victors moving to the semifinal on Wednesday.
Speaking on the development, Dr. Nasiru Yusif Gawuna who is also the president of Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, YSFON, said that what he has seen from the one week of soccer artistry is a testimony that Nigeria has come of age.
Gawuna said he was impressed with the turn out of the talents and described all the participants as winners.
The president further said that YSFON will continue to spread its dragnet to explore all areas the youths are involved in to create enabling environment for them to explore their potentials.
“I must tell you I am proud of all the participants and my prayer is for them to keep it up and we shall see how as a body we will made them world beaters,” he said.
