Daybreak can authoritatively reveal that the Buhari Campaign Organisation plagiarised the next level logo which was launched with fanfare last Sunday in Abuja.
An investigation by our correspondent shows that the next level logo is a trademark and insignia belonging to the Rex Institute, an organisation based in the United States.
A project and initiative of the James and Susan Rex Institute for Educational Renewal and Partnership which was established in Southern Carolina 2010. The original logo is available on its website on http://www2.winthrop.edu/rex/rex/about.html
The Institute honors Dr. Jim Rex, former dean of education at Winthrop University as well as the former State Superintendent of Education for South Carolina, and Dr. Sue Smith-Rex, retired Winthrop University College of Education faculty and a member of the Winthrop University Board of Trustees.
Dr. Jim and Sue Rex have spent their careers promoting and supporting education, and the James and Susan Rex Institute for Educational Renewal and Partnership honors their investment in education.
The Rex Institute is a service-oriented organization within Winthrop’s Richard W. Riley College of Education that serves, facilitates, and supports faculty and College of Education initiatives that involve internal and external collaboration, partnership, and outreach.
The current case will not be the first time the administration would be caught plagiarising the intellectual properties of individuals and organisations.
