RuPaul’s Drag Race star, Chi Chi DeVayne passes on at 34

RuPaul’s Drag Race star, Chi Chi DeVayne has died at 34 according to DeVayne’s family.

Her death came after she battled Pneumonia last week and was admitted to the hospital with high blood pressure and a suspected Kidney failure in July.

DeVayne’s family shared a post announcing her death on the star’s Instagram account.

“It is with tremendous sorrow that my family and I announce the passing of my beloved son, Zavion Michael Davenport, the world-renowned ‘Chi Chi DeVayne,’” the post read.
The family said plans for final arrangements were still forthcoming and shared “his final words to his family and fans, ‘Never give up!’”

On social media, host and executive producer RuPaul wrote;

“I am heartbroken to learn of the passing of Chi Chi DeVayne.
I am so grateful that we got to experience her kind and beautiful soul.
She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. May her generous and loving spirit shine down on us all.”
On behalf of VH1, World of Wonder and the cast and crew of RuPaul’s Drag Race, I extend my deepest sympathy – from our family to hers.
