The Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Friday in Lokoja charges people of the state to be law abiding and ensure that they play by the rules of the game.
Governor Bello who gave the charge after performing this Year’s Eid -El- Fitri prayer at Muhammad Buhari Event centre, Lokoja stressed that unity and peace of Nigeria should be uppermost in every Nigerians as no development can take place without unity.
“It is only when you are united that objectives can be achieved and I therefore implore everyone of us to pray for our leaders, locals, traditional, state and the nation.”
Governor Bello’ who called for prayers for president Muhammadu Buhari and the incoming President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice, Senator Kashim Shettima said prayer changes things.
“We should pray that the next transition in Kogi State be smooth as I promise to continue to play by the rules of the game and ensure that there is smooth transition.”
“And by the special grace of God, this would be my last Eid prayer – Eid-el-Fitri in this particular arena as the governor. When next you see me here, I will be a former governor”.
“And for all that we have achieved for our people I pray that by the special grace of God, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo that will succeed me by the grace of Allah, will do more.”
“I urge everyone of us to support him, pray for him, vote for him and ensure that we become victorious in the November Governorship election “.
