SENATOR LALONG AND OTHERS CALL FOR PRAYERS FOR HUMANITARIAN AFFAIRS MINISTER DR. NENTAWE YILWATDA

Simon Bako Lalong, the leader of the APC in Plateau State and Senator representing the Plateau South Senatorial District, has called for prayers, support, and cooperation for the new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshewe. Dr. Yilwatda was recently inaugurated into the Federal Cabinet by President Bola Tinubu.

During a reception in honor of the Minister in Abuja, Senator Lalong emphasized that Dr. Nentawe’s appointment represents a point of unity for Plateau State, as he is expected to serve all citizens, regardless of their differences.

Lalong stated that what the new Minister needs now is prayers due to the enormous responsibilities he faces, which will require composure and hard work.

The Senator also expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting a son of Plateau with the critical task of addressing poverty and humanitarian challenges across the country.

He assured Dr. Nentawe that he would receive not only the support of the APC family but also that of the entire Plateau populace, who are eager to benefit from his ministry.

Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Dariye, congratulated Dr. Nentawe, describing his appointment as an opportunity for unity, progress, and development in Plateau State. He urged the people to pray for the Minister and to be patient, noting that not everyone will receive contracts, appointments, or patronage.

Senator Istifanus Gyang also congratulated Dr. Nentawe and offered prayers for his success.

In response, Dr. Nentawe expressed his gratitude to the people of Plateau State, particularly to the APC led by Senator Lalong, for their support and prayers. He assured them that he would not let the President or the nation down.

Meanwhile, Senator Lalong has received APC candidates from the recent local government elections who visited him at his Abuja residence. He praised their determination and resilience in mobilizing members and supporters, who demonstrated great support despite the government’s actions, which contradicted the electoral process.
