SENATOR LALONG LIGHTS UP MORE COMMUNITIES WITH SOLAR POWER

Must read

In his continued effort to improve living conditions in his constituency, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, representing Plateau South Senatorial District, has secured and begun the installation of additional solar street lights in several communities. This initiative aims to bring reliable lighting to areas that have long lacked adequate infrastructure.

The latest beneficiaries of the approximately 200 solar lights are communities in Shendam, Langtang North, and Bakin Ciyawa, located in Quan-Pan Local Government Area. Installation work is currently underway, spreading excitement among local residents who are eager to experience the benefits of improved lighting.

Community members have hailed Senator Lalong’s intervention as a clear example of quality representation. They express their appreciation, noting that the streetlights are not only making their communities more livable but are also boosting the local economy. The added visibility is enhancing security and social life, enabling residents to carry out business activities even after dark.

The solar street lighting project follows the successful completion of the first phase, which began in Maikang and Langtang South. In addition to the lighting initiative, Senator Lalong has also overseen the construction of classroom facilities in Wase, Shendam, and other Local Government Areas. He has assured constituents that more development projects are forthcoming.

Senator Lalong is also overseeing renovations at Shendam General Hospital and the construction of earth dams in various locations across the constituency. Looking ahead, he has promised even greater investments for the Southern Zone in the 2025 budget. This time, he will actively participate in the appropriation process, a departure from the previous budget which he inherited.
