A serial critic of the Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Borno state Governor Prof. Umar Zulum offices, Rev. Kallamu Musa Ali Dikwa, has raised the alarm over alleged assassination attempt on him by security officers loyal to top government functionaries.
He also said some Borno State government officials and some prominent politicians tried their best through their hired killers to assassinate him but failed, and resulted in using the Department of Security Service (DSS) to harassed and intimidated him concerning the four letters he wrote and submitted to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s office.
He disclosed this in his signed press statement dated 20th April 2024, made available to journalists weekend, titled: “How Nigerian politicians assassinate people on their way using security personnel”: My encounter with Kabir Abdul Maiduguri DSS office”.
According to him, “Securities as the agents of protections of lives and properties in other countries are just but a shadow of itself in Nigeria my father land as my encounter with Kabir Abdul from DSS office Maiduguri command proved so.
Rev. Dikwa who’s the Director, General Center for Justice on Religious and Ethnicity in Nigeria explained that “Some Borno State government officials, some prominent politicians tried their best through their hired killers to assassinate or harm me but they have failed.
“Now they are using the Department of Security Service (DSS) to harass and intimidate me concerning my four letters written to Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He also stated that “Exactly two weeks ago, one Kabir Abdul claimed to be an officer with the DSS called me on phone via this contact *08094696969* that the Director Borno State command of the DSS directed him to call me for my own good, since there is a threat to my life.
“They are going to give me protection but I have to come to their office on Wednesday, 17/04/2024. I told him I’m not in Maiduguri town but when I’m around I’ll inform them.
“On 18/04/2024, Kabir called me back using same phone contact asking me that our agreement is today 18/04/2020 then I asked him which agreement and who agreed and on what?
“He said they are going to investigate me, I asked him what is the bases of the investigation but he didn’t answer. I later discovered that they’re just been used by some Borno State government officials and some politicians at the national level to harass, intimidate and detain me through the DSS Borno State command office.
“The four letters written to Mr. President were on some terrible political activities of the Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, Vice President Kashim Shettima and the entire Northern Nigeria Muslim politicians, traditional rulers and Islamic scholars’, he stated.
He quoted the text messages sent to him by the alleged DSS officer: “Below is the recent SMS sent to me by Kabir Abdul from DSS office Borno State command that proved again intimidation and not protections:
“Let me set the record ,nobody is using the Service to intimidate you. However, your invitation is in respect of an ongoing investigation. Kindly indicate a convenient time that you wish to honour this invitation. Thank you Sir”, he quoted the DSS.
Rev. Dikwa also alleged that “Two months ago, I was invited by two of the NIA staffs namely: Abubakar Sabo and Chibuzor Emmanuel about one of my letter written to Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu concerning Gwoza Christian community returns to their community from their IDPs comps.
“According to these two young men, they were directed by the office of the Chief of Staff to the President to invite me for more update and I honoured the invitation, met with them and gave them more updates and they promised in two weeks they will get back to me but to no avail even to pick my calls.
“I went to the Presidential Aso Villa over four times to see the Chief of staff to the President concerning our 5 letters but they always blocked me at the pilot gate not to see the Chief of Staff to the President.
“One of the security personnel at the pilot gate said to me oga, you’re just suffering yourself, poor masses have no rights in this country just forget this matter and go and look for another job to do before they will kill you.
“But I told him that this is the work that God Almighty has given into my hand and nothing more than that. I have tried to get his name but he refused to disclosed his name to me”, he stated.
He also stated that “The Vice President Kashim Shettima using Borno State command of DSS to get me harmed.
DSS Borno State command trying to force me to recount my publication concerning Vice President and North East Devt. Commission (NEDC), hence they insisted I must come to their office to deny all my allegations against Vice President so that when I’m in their office they’ll inform their attackers to attack and harm me when going out of the office then VP will reward them for finishing the work for him.
“I will honour their invitation when I arrive Maiduguri with my lawyers and media team to monitor, should anything happen to me let Nigerians and International Community know that the Borno State command of the DSS are to be held responsible”, he narrated.
Contacted on the phone number, the Kabir Abdul who sort to know the caller, dropped the call immediately after journalists introduction, saying “call back I’m somewhere”.
Efforts to know if he’s a DSS man and of what reason he invited the Rev. Dikwa who made the allegations, proved abortive as Abdul dropped the call immediately
