Shettima Represents Tinubu at Senegal’s 65th Independence Day in Dakar

Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Dakar, Senegal, where he will represent President Bola Tinubu at the country’s 65th Independence Day celebrations.

According to a statement by Shettima’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President is attending the event following an invitation from Senegalese President Bassirou Faye.

The celebration will take place at Place de la Nation in Dakar, where President Faye will host Shettima alongside other distinguished guests from Africa and beyond.

Senegal marks its Independence Day every April 4, commemorating its liberation from French colonial rule in 1960 with parades, ceremonies, and cultural festivities.

Shettima is expected to return to Nigeria after the one-day event.
