As part of governor Aliyu’s 365 days of leadership, the former governor of Zamfara state, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has commissioned 56 buses for 23 local government areas and religious groups in the state noting that this was a great journey towards bringing the rural masses closer to government.
He said this is not surprising for Ahmad Aliyu having Senator Wamakko as a mentor adding that transportation from rural to urban areas improve cordial relationship with masses coupled with bringing them closer to the government.
Yari further asserted that the 46 buses puchased for 23 local government areas cost the state government N4.5b while those to be distributed to Ulamas and some Islamiyya schools gulfed over N600m.
He said all these money was sacrificed to ease services from rural to urban areas and similarly reduce poverty as some youths would be engaged in the transportation sector.
On the welfare package, Yari said it is the work of government to make Ulamas lively so as to perform their imposed duties deligently which reminding and bringing them closer to God and commended the government for considering Imams, Muazzims in its budget.
Each Imam, Muazzims would receive money to purchase ram during the forth coming Eid-il-Kabir and bags of foodstuff for his family.
“By these gesture,Almighty Allah will continue to guide Sokoto state government for the betterments which neither individual nor group can provide.
