Sokoto Governor Approved Extension Of LGAs Sole Administrators’ Tenure

In line with the provisions of the Sokoto State Local Government Law 2008 as amended by Law no 3 2018, the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, has approved the extension of the tenure of Local Governments Sole Administrators in the State.

Press Secretary to the governor,Abubakar Bawa said the extension of the tenure is to allow the Sokoto State independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) to adequately prepare for elections into the 23 local government councils of the State.

Gov. Ahmed Aliyu while congratulating the Sole Administrators for the tenure extension,also commended them for their sustained efforts in transforming the lives of the rural dwellers in their respective local government areas.

He assured them of the state government’s readiness to support them to diligently discharge their duties in the service of the people of the state.

The extension of the tenure takes immediate effect.
