Sokoto Police finalize security arrangements for Eid Kabir celebration

By Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto

The Sokoto State Police Command has finalized comprehensive security arrangements to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Eid Kabir celebration.

Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Ahmed Musa, personnel have been strategically deployed to key locations, including prayer grounds, with increased police presence to maintain order and control crowds.

Officers have been assigned to prevent and respond swiftly to emergencies.

The police presence aims to deter crime and ensure smooth commercial transactions, with special attention on preventing the circulation of counterfeit currency in various marketplaces.

On major highways, traffic control measures have been put in place to prevent congestion and facilitate smooth movement.

Foot and vehicular patrols will be intensified to deter crime and maintain public order, alongside proactive monitoring to identify and thwart potential threats.

Police spokesman DSP Ahmad Rufa’i stated that the command would work closely with other security agencies, traditional rulers, and community vigilantes to present a unified security front.

Residents and visitors have been urged to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities through the command’s emergency numbers: 08032345167 and 08032861946
