The All Progressive Party Chairman in the state Isah Sadiq Achida made the declaration while addressing newsmen on the video trending on social media making the rounds from PDP stakeholders meeting held at Kasarawa International Conference Center, that the Chief Security Officer is inciting people to violence and arrogate themselves the powers of security agencies.

He said the PDP followers have been insteucted to ensure that no APC supporter is allowed to come and vote on election day.

Achida further declared that elections in Sokoto have always been peaceful before the coming into office of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, “Sokoto has never known violence before 2019 and the current 2023 elections under governor Tambuwal. From all indications,Tambuwal has no respect for our traditional fathers, the Sultan who has been calling for peaceful and orderly elections”.

Similarly,Achida reminded all the orders by Mr. President to shoot at sight, anyone who snatches or destroys a ballot box is applicable nationwide and Sokoto is not exceptional.

He called INEC and security agencies to set up a powerful investigative committee to investigate those destroyed ballot boxes and tore ballot papers and INEC should replace all those officials who compromised their positions and connived with politicians to subvert the electoral processes.

However, Isah Sadiq Achida and all APC supporters in the state joined in celebrating the Supreme Court ruling the formally reinstating the legal tender status of old 500 and 1000 naira notes extended to December this year.
