By Muhammad Ibrahim, Sokoto

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has distributed relief materials to victims of floods and banditry in the Sokoto South Senatorial Zone.

The distribution exercise, held in Shagari town, Sokoto State, was aimed at alleviating the suffering of affected communities. Speaking at the event, NEMA Director General, Dr. Zubaida Umar, represented by Aliyu Kafindangi, Head of NEMA’s Sokoto Operations Office, emphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting disaster victims.

Relief items included food supplies such as rice, maize, tomato paste, iodized salt, and non-food items like bedding materials and toiletries. Hundreds of beneficiaries across the seven local government areas within the Sokoto South Senatorial Zone received the assistance.

Senator Tambuwal expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and NEMA for the swift intervention, assuring that the materials would be distributed equitably across his constituency.

The event was attended by prominent figures, including former Minister of Transport, Yusuf Suleiman, and other dignitaries.
