Sokoto SUBEB To Renovate A Block Of Classroom At Sultan Ward MPS

Executive Chairman State Universal Basic Education board Alhaji Altine Shehu Kajiji made pledge today when he visited the school in continuation of his unscheduled tour to schools under the board.

Alhaji Altine Shehu said the renovation of the dilapidated block of classrooms become imperative in consideration of the fact that the school is over crowded with pupils.

He expressed optimism that the block when rehabilitated will accommodate a number of pupils thereby reducing pupils congestion in classes.

The Chairman however expressed concern with the late coming to work by both teachers and pupils of the school and called on parents,PTA and SBMC of the school to intensify effort in overcoming the ugly trend for rapid development of education and the area in general.

Turning to the teachers, Alhaji Altine Shehu challenged them to always put the fear of Allah in the discharge of their responsibility of imparting sound knowledge and good moral upbringing of children under their care.

He told them that the unscheduled visit he embark upon was not meant to witchunting any teacher but rather to remind them on what is expected of them as second parents of pupils.

Kajiji also used the medium to commend a 70 year old contract teacher in the school Alhaji Abubakar Ayagi whom he met in the school controlling pupils.

Informing the Subeb boss about the old man, Head Teacher of the school said Malam Abubakar Ayagi was a former E.O who was employed on contract as a result of his enthusiasm,commitment,dedication and sacrifice to duty during his period of active service who normally report to work as early as 7:30 in the morning.

The Executive Chairman in appreciation of Ayagi’s commitment to duty give him token amount of money and called on others to emulate him.

Alhaji Altine Shehu also commended the Education Secretary of the Area Aminu Ibrahim for his commitment to improving teaching and learning through constant supervision of schools under him as well as ensuring the welfare of his teachers and called on other Education Secretaries in the state to emulate him.
