The sum of over N2.4 billion has been earmarked by the Sokoto state government for the purchase of houses that will serve as its liaison office in Kaduna and rural electrification of some rural areas of the state.
This was contained in a release by Special Adviser on media and publicity to the governor, Muhammad Bello.
A break down of the sum shows that the purchase of an estate, comprising of four houses that will serve as the state liaison office, located at Alkali road in Kaduna city, will gulp N2.1 billion.
On the other hand the sum of N99.7 million will be spent on the reactivation of the electrification of Alkammu village in Wurno local government area of the state, while the remaining N192 million will be spent on the electrification of Bakaya- Romon Sarki- Romon Liman villages in Tambuwal local government area of the state.
The state Commissioner of Information, Hon. Isah Bajini Galadanci who briefed journalists on the outcome of the meeting presided over by Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, also said the council has approved the review of the law on revenue integration in the state.
