Kano State Deputy Governor Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has revealed that synergy, diligence and conducting an all-inclusive government are part of the tools used by Ganduje’s administration in actualizing its policies and programmes.
He stated this on Wednesday while giving an over view of the inaugural pronouncement of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje at the commencement of a 3-day retreat for Kano State Executive Council Members, Permanent Secretaries and selected top Government functionaries held in Kaduna State.
Gawuna maintained that the State agenda for next level were carefully selected to make significant impact on the lives of the good people of the State, stressing that the administration had already made courageous efforts to harness the latent resources and synchronize all available opportunities to move the State forward.
On the Health Sector, Gawuna said the administration of Ganduje had made it part of its cardinal points to ensure staging good, workable and state of the art healthcare facilities which resulted to the approval for the establishment of the Cancer Treatment Centre in the State.
According to him, the Governor, equally pronounced to consolidate on the existing 5-year development plan as well as passage of the Water and Sanitation law, adding that plan to overhaul the State Water Board had reached advanced stage, with securing a facility worth 64.5 million Euros from French Development Agency.
“From the D-Day of this second term, we have various glad tidings pertaining to Agriculture. Little among them, were the APPEALS Programmes, Islamic Development Bank, Pastoral Development Programme and N1.89b Cotton intervention programme to boost the production and value chain of the commodity,” he said.
Regarding the issue of security and anti- corruption pronouncement, Gawuna said Kano became one of the most peaceful states in the country due to the effort made in joining hand with all security agencies to come out with strategic plan to tackle all kind of social vices.
While reviewing the Governor’s pronouncement on the issue of War Against Drug Abuse, Gawuna pointed out that the administration had recorded significant improvement in that direction, stressing that, “Recent report from relevant agencies indicated that the gruesome ranking of Kano as number one State with prevalent Drug Abuse has come to an end.”
Other areas highlighted by Gawuna included, issue of physically challenged people and integrated rural development in which the State had adopted the law which guarantees the fundamental human right of people living with disabilities.
