    One killed, 3 injured as armed bandits attacks Zango Kataf in Kaduna

    As troops recover 2-AK 47 rifles, over 43 rounds of ammunition

    At least one person has been killed and three others injured in fresh attacked in Zango Kataf Local government area of Southern Kaduna, according to third Kaduna State Security update: issued on Monday 1st February 2021.

    This is coming barely less than 2weeks after Aryap community development Association (ACDA). made a pledged to unit the Fulani, Hausa and other ethnic nationality in the area.

    Security agencies report issued by internal security and Home affairs commissioner Mr Samuel Aruwan stated that “an attack has bee reported by suspected bandits on some locals in a recreational joint at Wawan Rafi village, Zangon Kataf local government area.

    The security agencies in a feedback to Kaduna State Government said a citizen, one John Isah was confirmed dead following the attack and three others injured, listed as follows:

    Those injured includes Fidelix Jacob, Abraham Isah and
    Philemon Adamu respectively

    The security agencies added that two AK 47 rifles were recovered, along with over 43 rounds of ammunition from two individuals, Malachi Akut and Gabas Gaje. “They were immediately arrested for further interrogation.

    The security report further Stated that while the troops were trailing the bandits, an irate mob comprising youths and some individuals launched a violent protest and forcibly freed the arrested suspects from custody, aiding their escape.

    “Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed sadness at the report, and prayed for the repose of the soul of the dead, while wishing the injured speedy recovery.

    “The Governor frowned at the disruption of security operation and further directed security agencies to proceed with thorough investigations into the attack and subsequent protests. Investigations into the incidents are in progress”, it added..

    The Kaduna State Government on Saturday, said fleeing bandits were neutralized in air operations over Giwa Local Government Area.

    This was contained in a statement by Mr. Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State.

    Aruwan further said, “More missions conducted over locations in Birnin Gwari, Chikun and Igabi LGAs

    His said “Air platforms conducted armed reconnaissance over Sabon Birni, Rikau, Kaya, Kerawa, Galadimawa, Fatika, Kidandan, Saulawa, Dogon Dawa, Ngede Allah, Kuduru, Yadi, Damari, Takama, Sabuwa, Ungwan Yako, the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari road, the Ungwan Yako-Kuduru track and environs.”

    “According to the operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government, armed bandits with rustled cattle were sighted about 3km southwest of Galadimawa, apparently fleeing the area due to the air raid. They were promptly engaged and neutralized.

    “Visual and radio contact was maintained with ground troops, and all other covered areas were reported to be calm with no suspicious activities observed.” The statement said

    “In another mission, air platforms swiftly mobilized for a mission over Kidandan village following reports of bandits’ activities in the area.

    “Although observation was not optimal due to poor visibility over the area at the time, the crew maintained their presence over the location for deterrence before returning to base.

    “Governor Nasir El-Rufai noted the report with thanks, commending the crews and troops for their sustained efforts,” the statement further added.

    According to Mr. Aruwan, “Aggressive patrols will continue with regularity in these and other areas of interest across the state.”

    Again, no fewer than 21 persons have been reportedly abducted by kidnappers along Kachia road, when the armed gangs unleashed terror attacks on the victims on Kaduna South.
    The attacks allegedly occurred in late hours of Friday when the armed men in military uniforms abducted the 21 persons along the road in Idion village in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna state.

    Councilor, Zonkwa Ward in Zango kataf local government area of Kaduna state, Luka Bako, who is one among the two persons escaped from the kidnapper’s attacked in the bush told journalist that they escaped through the bush and assisted by some locals

    A statement made available to journalists in Kaduna on Saturday night averred that “In the late hours of Friday armed men who came in large number, dressed in military uniforms adducted 21 persons along Kaduna- kachia road at Idon village of kajuru local government area of Kaduna state.

    “Councilor of Zonkwa ward in Zango kataf local government area of Kaduna state, Luka Bako, who is one among the two persons that escaped from the kidnappers in the bush disclosed this to AIT, he explained that they ran through the bush and later found themselves at Mararraban Kajuru, where they were assisted by the locals, calling on government to beep up security in the area to avoid further occurrence.

    Contacted, kaduna police command spokesman Muhammad jalige, could not respond before the time of filling this report.

    Similarly, Gunmen reportedly killed 12 locals and burnt houses when they attacked a community at Na’ikko village in Giwa local government area of Kaduna state.

    Those who survived the attack have fled their homes to neighboring Barkallahu village in Igabi local government area of the state, where they now as IDPs.

    The Commissioner for internal Security and Home affairs in Kaduna state, Mr.Samuel Aruwan ,had visited the IDP settlement and commiserated with the locals .
    He appealed to them “to recourse to the law and to shun any form of reprisals.”

    “The state government will do everything within its powers to arrest the mastermind of the attack,” he said.

    A survivor, Malam Nura Haruna told the commissioner that he had lost two sons and two brothers.

    According to him, “the bandits came to the village and started shooting us. We are appealing to the security agencies and the state government to find the gunmen and bring them to justice.”

    Gunmen have reportedly killed 12 locals, and burnt some  houses when they attacked a Fulani community at Na’ikko village in Giwa local government area of Kaduna state.

    Those who survived the attack have fled their homes to neighboring Barkallahu village in  Igabi local government area of the state, where they’re now as IDPs.

    The Commissioner for internal Security and Home affairs in Kaduna state Mr. Samuel Aruwan ,had visited the IDP settlement and commiserated with the locals .

    Bandits Kidnap 27 Travelers In Taraba State

    No fewer than 27 passengers travelling along Wukari to Takum Expressway were on Thursday kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be bandits in Taraba state.

    The Chairman of Takum Local Government Area Shiban Tikari confirmed this to Channels television via a telephone interview.

    According to Tikari, the travellers were returning from a wedding ceremony in Wukari local government when the bandits attacked them at Kofai Ahmadu in Takum and whisked them away to an unknown destination alongside the vehicle.

    ”They were 24 passengers that left for Wukari to celebrate one of them who was getting wedded yesterday,” he said.

    ”When returning they decided to squeeze in three of their friends who were stranded in Wukari then this thing happened along the road. The Vehicle, an 18 seater, bus was used to convey them to the unknown destination.”

    He added that with the help of youths of Takum communities and some security agencies, they combed the bushes around, but found nothing.

    Tikari noted that so far, no call has been made by their abductors on what their demands are or their whereabouts.

    The Police Public Relations Officer in the state David Misal also confirmed the incident stressing that they have launched an investigation into the matter.

    He, however, disclosed that they are yet to establish if it is a case of kidnapping or not.

    The Wukari to Takum Expressway has been in the news lately for abduction and ambush especially during the wake of the ethnic crisis between the Tivs and Jukun in April 2019.

    This also led to the killing of a Catholic priest, Rev Father Tanko David the same year.

    Kaduna: Bandits Kill Four In Igabi, Kajuru LGAs

    At least four people have been killed by bandits during an attack in communities in Igabi and Kajuru local government areas of Kaduna state.

    The bandits, according to the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, attacked Nasarawa Kalgo community on the outskirts of Jaji, Rigachikun district in Igabi local government area, and killed
    a resident, Harrisu Ibrahim.

    Similarly, armed bandits attacked the Kujama area of Chikun local government area, and were repelled by local vigilantes.

    However, as they retreated to their hideouts, the bandits attacked Janwuriya village in Kajuru local government area, and killed two brothers, Nuhu Ishaya and Yakubu Ishaya.

    In a separate incident, bandits invaded Maraban Kajuru, also in Kajuru local government area and killed one resident, Samiru Na Ya’u.

    Meanwhile, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has expressed sadness over the incidents , and prays for the repose of the souls of the slain, while sending his condolences to their families, Aruwan’s statement said.

    The Governor also tasked security agencies to conduct diligent investigations into the incidents.

    Suspected bandits attacked Magarya community in Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State and killed three persons.

    Magarya is the hometown of the state’s House of Assembly speaker, Alhaji Nasiru Muazu Magarya.

    It was gathered that the armed men invaded the town on Tuesday night, January 26, and opened fire on residents.

    “They killed two people, vandalized several properties and rustled more than 100 cows after torching food stores,” one of the state’s lawmakers told Daily Trust.

    Meanwhile, the speaker on Wednesday, January 27, led a state government delegation to the community to assess the level of damage done and sympathise with the people of the area over the attacks.

    While condoling with the families of those who lost their lives in the attack, Speaker Magarya also sympathised with those who lost livestock and food items that were set ablaze by the armed criminals.

    He then assured the people of the area of more deployment of troops to beef up security in the environs and fish out the culprits.

    Bandits have killed a ward head in Baranje village of Chikun local government area in Kaduna State and three other persons in two other local . government areas.

    Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who disclosed this in a statement Thursday evening, stressed that security agencies reported the killing of the four citizens in isolated locations of Giwa, Chikun and Igabi local government areas.

    According to Aruwan: “At Baranje village near Buruku in Chikun local government area, the two persons killed, were Dogara Yahaya, the Ward Head of Baranje village and one Reuben Adamu.

    “At Ungwan Sada in Giwa local government, armed bandits killed one Ibrahim Salisu after an attempt to kidnap him.

    “Similarly, Abdullahi Saleh, a herder, was killed by armed bandits along the Kangimi axis, on the Kaduna-Jos Road in Igabi local government.

    “Governor Nasir El-Rufai noted these reports with sadness, and sent condolences to the families of the slain citizens, while praying for the repose of their souls. He also tasked security agencies to ensure diligent investigations into the incidents.

    “Intensified ground and air patrols are set to be sustained in Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Igabi and Chikun local government areas, linking up to Niger State.

    Reports has just rented the public air that the commander of Joint Task Force (JTF), Zamfara state, JF London has brutally been shot dead by armed bandits..

    Circumstances which led to his Killing still remains scanty at the time of this report, the JTF commander who was hit by fore head with bullet, reportedly died instantly.

    Sources from Zamfara stated that the incident occurred “After Huge donations to Bandits by Zamfara Governor “Hilux and Dollars” Bandits now armed to teeth fully equipped;  JTF commander JF London in Zamfara state, killed by bandit just now”, it stated.

    Recall that the current state government had allegedly donated Hilux vehicles to the bandits and given them some dollars, in a bide to stop their activities in the state..
