    The Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has called for general prayer for national peace and even development.

    Alh. Ododo in a statement made available to Journalists in Lokoja
    felicitated with Muslims in the State and the country at large on the celebration of this year’s Eid el Fitri.

    He congratulated Muslim faithful on the successful completion of Ramadan Fast, urging them to imbibe the spirit of humility, love and sacrifice that the season represent.

    According to him, the Holy Month of Ramadan is a blessing to him following his emergence in the just concluded Governorship Primaries, saying his victory is one of the blessings of the Month of Ramadan.

    The APC Guber Flag Bearer, however, enjoined the Muslims to imbibe the lessons of the season beyond the Holy month to earn them Allah’s blessings.

    Ododo therefore called on the people of the state to be security alert and report suspicious movement capable of causing security breach to the security agents.

    The President of Enemona Humanitarian Foundation, Amb. Gabriel Onoja has called on Muslims and other wealthy Nigerians to show love towards widows, orphans and other vulnerable people faced with difficulties in celebrating the Eid-el-Fitri festival.

    In his message to mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Ambassador Onoja noted that Ramadan symbolizes the almighty Allah’s way of teaching to assist those that lacks resources and to allow the lessons of the Holy Months dwell in them through charity and compassion.

    He said the message of sacrifice as preached by the Holy Prophet of Allah can be well situated by providing for those who are hungry, adding that more blessings will be received from Allah by those who care for the widow and orphans.

    While urging Nigerians to seek peace at all times with all men irrespective of religion, tribe and social status, the president called on Nigerians to promote tolerance, respect for all and exhibit discipline at all times to enable them benefit richly from the blessing of the Holy month of Ramadan.

    Amb. Gabriel Onoja promised that his foundation will continue to do the needful by rendering assistance to the less privileged in the society
    from the foundation’s periodic interventions.

    “Several food items were distributed to widows in parts of Kogi State for the celebration of the festival”.

    Eid-el-Fitri: Governor Lalong Congratulates Muslims

    As the Muslim community in Plateau State joins the rest of the world to mark the Eid-el-ftr, marking the end of the Ramadan fast, Governor Simon Bako Lalong has asked them to continue to live up to the tenets of their faith and allow the benefits of the just concluded fasting reflect in their character and actions. 

    Governor Lalong while congratulating them for a successful ramadan fast, said the current challenges Nigeria is witnessing particularly insecurity require not only prayers, but commitment from all citizens to change the tide. 

    Lalong acknowledges that although the Government has the major responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizens, said such duty only succeeds when the people give the government the necessary support. 

    He praised the people of Plateau State for supporting his administration in working for the return of peace in the State which is bringing tremendous development whereby many investors are coming in to establish businesses or take advantage of the wonderful weather to engage in tourism, conferences and social events. 

    He called for more Synergy, dialogue and engagement between people of different faiths, cultural, ethnic and political backgrounds in order to consolidate on the peace that has been fostered in the State. 

    He wishes all the Muslim ummah and other Nigerians a wonderful celebration and asks them to be security conscious and remain vigilant to report a suspicious activity to the security agencies.

    Member, House of Representatives, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe K has charged Muslims to promote Peace and Love.

    The Oluyole Federal Constituency representative congratulated muslim faithfuls across her constituency and Nigeria at large, for successfully completing the thirty days of Ramadan fasting, which she described as one of the great pillars of Islam.

    Not to dampen the joy in celebrating, she however called for intensified security and a lasting solution to the insecurity and economic hardship across the nation.  The Oluyole  Representative also took the opportunity to reiterate  her undaunted effort to contribute her quota as a member of the Green Chamber.

    She enjoined her constituents to remember Covid guidelines as we celebrate the Eid-el-Fitri and have a peaceful celebration.

    Gov Sule congratulates Muslim faithful on Eid-el-fitri

    Gov. Abdullah Sule of Nasarawa State has congratulated Muslim Ummah on the Eid-el-fitri celebration, urging them to always exhibit good virtues of Ramadan for unity and stability.

    This is contained in a statement by his deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, who doubled as the acting governor of the state , Wednesday in Lafia.

    Sule said for the past 29 days, Muslims the world over have observed the fast in the sacred month of Ramadan in compliance with the Islamic injunction.

    “As you are all aware, fasting in the month of Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam, aimed at strengthening our faith through spiritual engagements such as abstinence from eating, drinking and satisfying other desires from dawn to sunset.

    “It also encompasses intense prayers, recitation and interpretation of the Holy Qur’an, as well as increased acts of kindness, charity and humility, among other moral virtues,” he added.

    He enjoined all Muslims to remain steadfast in applying the virtues of Ramadan through sustained supplication, hospitality and good neighbourliness.

    Akabe also call on the good citizens of Nasarawa State to continue to pray for the peace, security and economic prosperity of the state.

    He also appealed to residents of the state to continue to adhere to COVID-19 protocols to contain the spread of the second wave of the virus in the state.

    “I need to state that we have received the first dose of Astra Zeneca Vaccine and distributed same across the primary Healthcare Centres in the state.

    “I, therefore, call on our religious and opinion leaders to continue to sensitise the public on the need to accept the vaccine and get vaccinated for the well-being of the society.

    “I need to reiterate that the protection of lives of our people during this trying times remain sacrosanct, hence the need to continue to adhere to the COVID-19 protocols,” he said.

    He called on members of the public to obey traffic rules to guard against avoidable road crashes.
