    Internet Fraud: 19 ‘Yahoo-Yahoo Boys’ In EFCC Webs In Kogi

    Operatives of the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the weekend arrested 19 suspected internet fraudsters in a sting operation in Lokoja, the Kogi State Capital.

    The suspects were reportedly smoked out of their hideouts by the eagle-eyed operatives of the EFCC over the weekend following credible intelligence on the fraudulent activities of the alleged fraudsters in the State’s capital city and its environs.

    The suspects, according to a statement by the anti-graft agency, include a serving corps member in the State, Adamu Shuabu, Achimugu Nelson Ojonoka, Victor Atsumbe, Akoh Grace Samuel, Usman Abubakar Sadiq, Jacob Emmanuel, Solomon John, Christian Oyakhilome, Adesanya Adeolu Tosin, Uloko George Ojonugwa and Timothy Eleojo Moses.

    Others are Negedu Joseph Onuchei, Usman Tenimu, Lukman Musa, Samuel Atadoga, Daniel Atekojo James, Abdulrazaq Iko-ojo Ahnod, Olarewaju John Olumide and Ademola Adegoke Daniel.

    It was gathered “Upon arrest, a Lexus car, huge sum of money suspected to be proceeds of illegal activities, different brands of phones, laptops and other incriminating materials were recovered from them.”

    “The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the ongoing investigations,” the EFCC statement added.

    Instagram Comedian, Pankeeroy arrested by EFCC for alleged Internet Fraud

    The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday announced that it arrested Instagram comedian and social media Influencer, Nwagbo Oliver Chidera, better known as Pankeeroy, for alleged internet fraud.

    The anti-graft agency stated this in a statement titled, ‘EFCC Arrests Instagram Comedian for Alleged Internet Fraud in Lagos’.

    “Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Office of the EFCC have arrested an Instagram comedian and social media Influencer, Nwagbo Oliver Chidera, A.K.A. Pankeeroy,” the statement partly read.

    Pankeeroy has over 500,000 followers on the social media application, Instagram. He is known for flaunting beautiful ladies, exotic and flashy cars, shoes, wears, houses and wristwatches on the application.

    Last June, the Dubai Police Force, United Arab Emirates, arrested Nigerian Instagram celebrity, Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi and extradited him to the United States to face trial.

    According to the police, Hushpuppi and his gang committed fraud amounting to 1.6 billion Dirham (N168 billion) while 13 luxury cars, estimated at 35 million Dirham (N3.7 billion) were recovered from the house where they were arrested.

    EFCC Arrests 14 For Internet Fraud In Lagos, 9 Others Arrested In Benin

    Operatives of the Lagos Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested 14 persons following series of intelligence on their alleged fraudulent activities.

    They were arrested at 1004 Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday, February 4, 2021.

    The suspects are Akin Abiola Daramola, Stephen Augustine Terungwa, Oluwateru Abiodun Samson, Jeffrey Imariagbe Ehis, Uwajiala Odion Henry, Solomon Abidiran Pelumi, Adebayo Oluwatobi Isaac Olamide, and Odunifa Joseph Opomulero.

    Others are Adulkarim Samad Olalekan, Anne Davidson, Ibrahim Enakere Emmanuel, Abayomi Oluwagbenga Olowoake, Israel Jigah Sokoamtu, Oluwaseun Olajuwon Ibrahim and Isaiah Effiong.

    According to the antigraft agency, the suspects have been interrogated and will soon be arraigned in court.

    Similarly, operatives of the EFCC in Benin, on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, arrested nine suspected internet fraudsters in an early morning operation in Benin City, Edo State.

    The suspects who were arrested following intelligence received by the Commission are Okosun Godspower, Imo Harry Hamilton, Efosa Desmond, Odiase Aifuwa, Idoko Onakpa, Dogìo Samson, Okukoje Godstime, Onuigbo Julius, and Osamulu Sunday.

    Items recovered from them include laptop computers, mobile phones, a Toyota Camry car, and a Luxus Jeep.

    The suspects are said to have made useful statements and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
