    NDE Embarks On Compliance Monitoring of Graduates Attachment Programme In Kogi

    The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), has embarked on compliance check/monitoring of the participants of Graduates Attachment Programme (GAP) in Kogi to ensure effective utilisation of the scheme.

    The representative of the Director of Special Public Works and team leader of the monitoring visit in Kogi, Mrs. Benita Nakanda expressed satisfaction with the way and manner the participants conducted themselves.

    This according to her shows their readiness to comply with the rules and regulations guiding the programme especially on their attendance.

    The programme which is under the Special Public Works Department will serve as search light on the participants was to ensure that beneficiaries don’t misplace the opportunity offered them by the federal government.

    She urged the participants to continue to co-operate with the officers of the Directorate for the inspection in their own interest and that of the nation at large.

    According to her “The War Against Unemployment should be a collective struggle between the graduates and NDE as Jobs creator”

    Benita Nakanda therefore, called on the participants to co-operate with government in its efforts to make them self-reliant as there are no white Collar jobs to accommodate the rising population of youths graduating from Secondary and Tertiary Institutions every year.

    Kebbi: NDE trains 50 unemployed graduates on business stat-up skills

    The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Kebbi, has commenced training for no fewer that 50 unemployed graduates on business start-up skills.The NDE Director-General, Malam Abubakar Nuhu- Fikpo, said at the opening of the programme in Birnin Kebbi on Friday that the participants would be trained on how to start small scale enterprises.Represented by Alhaji Abdullahi Danjuma-Machika, NDE Coordinator in Kebbi, Nuhu- Fikpo said that the training would equip the participants to become self-reliant.“The training programme is aimed at inculcating the spirit of entrepreneurship and self- reliance in the unemployed graduates.“The participants will be taught how to write bankable feasibility study reports and also how to run their own businesses successfully,” he said.Nuhu- Fikpo urged the participants to take the five-day training programme seriously and endeavour to apply the skills they would acquire in operating their businesses.One of the participants, Saratu Nata’ala, commended the NDE for the gesture, describing the training as well-intended.“We thank the NDE for the opportunity, we promise to make the best use of it,” she said.Our correspondent reports that the five-day training programme is part of NDE’s Start Your Own Business project on Small Scale Enterprises.
