    NCPC threatens to hold guarantors liable over any absconder

    The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC has threatened to hold guarantors liable over any pilgrim who absconds in the Holy Land.

    The Commission revealed that it marched action with words as it arrests a guarantor , Chidi Ogbuehi by law enforcement agents when his brother Solomon Ogbehi absconded during the July 2022 Pilgrimage through the Lagos contingent to Israel.

    Furthermore the Commission has reiterated it’s commitment to achieving zero pilgrims abscondmt , a feat which was achieved last year during its maiden pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Jordan.

    Accordingly Commission intending Pilgrims must compulsorily fill forms with a guarantor’s attestation on the intending Pilgrim to take full responsibility in event that the Pilgrim absconds in the Holy Land.

    According to a statement signed the by Head of Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka, Mr Chidi Ogbuehi, who claimed to be an official of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN and a Lecturer with Anchor University, Ipaja, Lagos was arrested by the law enforcement agents on 1st August, 2022,for aiding his brother, Solomon Ogbuehi to abscond in Israel during Pilgrimage exercise, having committed himself by attestation and by accepting full responsibility.

    Mr Solomon Ogbuehi, the abscondee, traveled to Israel as a self – sponsored Pilgrim with the Lagos State contingent and claimed to be an Evangelist with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, MFM.

    On the expiration of his Pilgrimage exercise, Mr Solomon Ogbuehi could not return to the country having absconded in Israel. His guarantor, Mr Chidi Ogbuehi failed to produce him based on the fact that he was the one who guaranteed him and promised to be held responsible for the pilgrim,s action.
    NCPC will leave no stone unturned to make sure that Mr Chidi Ogbuehi pays for aiding his brother to abscond during Pilgrimage, except he produces him as this would serve as a deterrent to other would-be guarantors and potential absconders.

    The Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission Rev Dr Yakubu Pam has commended 8th batch of pilgrims in the Holy land on their exceptional
    conduct.
    Dr. Pam stated this on during the Jerusalem and Jordan Pilgrimage ceremony held in Amman, Jordan on the 24th August, 2022.

    Head Media and Public Relations of NCPC.
    The NCPC who was represented by a member of the Board of the Commission, Mr John Attah said, “you have been very exceptional in your conduct , you were always your brothers keeper”, adding that the pilgrims demonstrated the spirit of brotherhood and love for one another.

    He further noted that Pilgrimage would continue to remain a spiritual with deep spiritual content.

    Pam thanked the board and the entire management of the Commission for ensuring a hitch free, successful Pilgrimage exercise which should be replicated for the spiritual gains back home by living exemplary life.

    He further tasked the pilgrims to learn from the advanced technology and infrastructural development of Israel and Jordan by having a positive mentality on how to contribute meaningfully to the development of their nation .

    Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Borno state Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Gaji Genesis affirmed that the 8th batch of pilgrims did excellently well andHe thanked the pilgrims for praying fervently for peace in Nigeria and for the success of the 2023 general election.

    In his remarks, the President of Tabar Tours , Mr Joseph Tabar thanked the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission for organizing ensuring a hitch free Pilgrimage exercise.

    He explained that Tabar Tour being one of the leading Ground Handlers in Israel would stop at nothing to ensure that pilgrims always experience spiritual encounter during Pilgrimage and congratulated the pilgrims for acquiring new title of JP and also as good ambassadors of Christ.

    Head of Operations NCPC, Mr Abu Okpanachi commended the pilgrims for being good ambassadors of Nigeria and admonished them to take home all the experiences garnered in the Holy land by impacting positively on their immediate environment and the society at large. Have

    The 8th batch of pilgrims were made up of Borno pilgrims, Yobe and consular officers. The pilgrims during their Pilgrimage experience visited strategic Holy Sites in Israel and Jordan.

    The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam has commended the Executive Governor of Delta State, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his consistency in sponsoring Christians on Pilgrimage to the Holy land.
    Rev. Pam who was represented by the Director of Mobilization , Chris Udegbunam gave the commendation on 8th August, 2022 during the orientation programme organized by NCPC for intending pilgrims at the Government House, Asaba.

    He said ,” my special thanks go to the Executive Governor of Delta State,, His Excellency,Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for his consistency in the sponsorship of christians in the state on Pilgrimage and for advancing the cause of Christianity Pilgrimage in Nigeria.

    The NCPC boss also congratulated the intending pilgrims for their level of preparedness both spiritually and physically to embark on the journey of Faith and enjoined them to shun abscondment and warned that the
    Commission frowns seriously at it and would do everything humanly possible to discourage it.
    He further applauded Governor Okowa for being the only State Chief Executive in South South who sponsored pilgrims to the Kingdom of Jordan in 2021.
    Chairman of the Delta State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Most Rev Cyril Odutemu admonished the intending pilgrims to conduct themselves properly while in the Holy land nothing that the Board would not tolerate any form of unruly behavior in the Holy land.
    He further advised them not to do anything that would undermine the security of the Host County. Executive Secretary of the Delta State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Apostle Samuel Okoh, charged the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state and Nigeria .

    About 315 intending pilgrims of Delta State were airlifted to the Holy land of Israel and Jordan
    Monday 8th, August, 2022 from the Port Harcourt International Airport.

    NCPC boss marks two years in office

    The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev.Dr .Yakubu Pam has celebrated two years in Office on 7th July ,2022.

    The Staff and friends of the Executive Secretary were all gathered in the Conference hall of the NCPC Corporate headquarters in Abuja to celebrate with him.

    Rev. Pam in his remarks thanked God for his appointment and also appreciated President Buhari for finding him worthy and deserving to coordinate the affairs of NCPC at a time like this.
    He said that although his assumption of office was at the most challenging time when the world stood still for the ravaging and most dreaded COVID 19 global pandemic which destabilized all facets of human endeavour.

    He said, “We were able to succeed because God was on our side and we were focused and determined to change the narrative. ”

    “In 2021 the Commission carried out a thorough examination of its enabling Act which empowers it to carry out pilgrimage activities to the Holy Sites around the world and since Israel borders were shut down against international pilgrims, the need to explore other pilgrimage destinations became imperative.”

    The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam has urged Nigerians to shun hate speech as the nation is currently experiencing critical times.

    Rev. Pam gave this advise when the Executive Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists paid him a courtesy visit at NCPC Corporate Headquarters, Garki 2, Abuja recently.
    He said, “Words are powerful, they can build or destroy a nation.”
    Also the NCPC lead commended the Nigeria Union of Journalists for their role in nation building and development, adding that the Nigeria media has played a great role in information dissemination.

    He appreciated the media for countering fake news particularly from the social media and for always dissemination activities of the Commission.

    He said, “Journalism is not only an expression of opinion but a profession that speaks life. ”
    He assured the journalists that the Commission would support the NUJ.

    National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Mr Chris Isiguzo
    commended the Executive Secretary for his track record of selfless service and integrity to the nation.
    Isiguzo said, “It is on record that your honesty and hard work have contributed in restoring probity, transparency and accountability to the Commission within a short time.”
    He stressed the need for collaboration between the Commission and National Union of Journalists in advancing the cause of peaceful coexistence in the country and in other areas of promoting our democratic value

    As Nigeria marks it’s Democracy Day today, Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC, Rev. Dr Yakubu Pam salutes heros of democracy who made sacrifices to enthrone democratic governance.

    Pam in a goodwill message signed Head , Media and Public Relations, Celestine Toruka made available to Daybreak today theRev.Pam also congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and Nigerians on Democracy Day.

    He said the day reminds Nigerians of the heroes of democracy who made different sacrifices to enthrone democratic Governance.

    The NCPC boss expressed happiness over how Nigerians’ commitment on sustenance of Democratic rule, which he said remains the best practices in any democratic processes.
    He also admonishes politicians to play the game with fear of God, bearing in mind that Nigerians has no other country.

    NCPC Boss further advised the youths to take path in the political and electioneering process so as to have a voice and vote their conscience.
    He further urged INEC to effectively play its role as an unbiased umpire, adding that this would ensure
    emergency of the choice of Nigerians and a nation bereft of tribal sentiments, cohesion but peace and economic prosperity.

    Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam has condemned the recent killings some communities in Kanam Local Government Area as he condoled the Emir of Kanam in Plateau state , Alhaji Muazu Muhammadu over the mishap.

    Rev. Pam who paid a condolence visit to the Emir with his delegation in his palace at Dengi, headquarters of Kanam Local Government Council on 23rd April, 2022 said he was pained by the unprovoked killings of the good people of Kanam by those he called the ” evil men”.
    He described Kanam as a very peaceful place blessed with hardworking and peace loving people, adding that the recent attack and killings in Kanam is a trying time for the Emir and his subjects.
    He urged him and his subjects to be strong and undaunted because trials are meant to strengthen us as a people and move us to the next level.
    He said ,” I am here to commiserate with the people of Kanam and the entire people of the state.”
    He called on the Federal Government and the Plateau state Government to come to the aid of the Kanam people, stating that the need help at this trying time.
    According to him, the insecurity problem in the area cannot be handled by the Emir alone.
    You alone cannot do it, you need the intervention of both the Federal and Plateau state government”, he said.
    Emir of Kanam ,His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muazu Muhammadu said the visit of the Executive Secretary had given them so much hope and encouragement noted that as a spiritual father he was confident that his visit and his prayers would bring comfort to his people.
    He further disclosed that the communities where the killings took place have a large concentration of abundant natural resources with high mining activities which attracted the unknown assailants .
    Aside this, he disclosed that the communities are border towns and share boundaries with Bauchi.
    The Emir also called on the Plateau state government to harness the mineral potentials in the area which would help in empowering the youth and engage them meaningfully.
    Furthermore the NCPC boss paid a condolence visit to the Executive Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council, Hon Dayyabu Garga at the Local Government Secretariat.

    Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman, the Secretary of the Local Government, Hon.Hashimu Umar thanked the NCPC boss for his humanitarian gestures across the country.
    He further thanked the him for his good heart and his love for the people of Kanam and Plateau state in general.
    The Executive Secretary was accompanied on the visit by the Chairman of Riyom Local Government Council, Hon Mafeng Gwallson, the deputy chairman of Barki- Ladi Local Government Council, Hon Dung Iliya, officials of Jos South Local Government Council, the Clergy and officials of NCPC.
    It would be recalled that few weeks back some communities in Kanam and Wase were attacked by some unknown gun men and over 80 people were killed and houses burnt down.

    NCPC Boss commends Bible Society of Nigeria for translating the Bible

    The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC, Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam has commended the leadership of the Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN), for their effort in translating God’s words in different Nigerian Languages.

    He gave this commendation in his office at the NCPC Corporate headquarters in Abuja on the yesterday while receiving a delegation of the Bible Society of Nigeria, Abuja and Nassarawa area office.

    Rev. Pam lauded the Bible Society of Nigeria for ensuring that copies of Bibles are distributed in different Nigeria Languages.
    He said, “I respect the Bible Society of Nigeria so much for devoting time to increase copies of the Bible in different Nigerian Languages.”

    He also commended the Theological Institutions in Nigeria who he said, “are the scholars always there to ensure these Bibles when distributed are interpreted and understood in the communities. The NCPC Boss assured them of his maximum support in their programs and activities.

    Leader of the delegation, Bishop. Dr. David Asoore, Chairman of the Abuja and Nassarawa area office of the Bible Society of Nigeria, said they were in the Commission to identify with the Executive Secretary and to pray with him that God Almighty endows him with the wisdom to achieve his set targets and goals in NCPC.

    Bishop Asoore expressed the Associations’ desire to partner with the Commission in ensuring that each pilgrim gets a copy of the Holy Bible while on pilgrimage.

    He further intimated the Executive Secretary of the functions of the BSN which he stated as, “to translate the word of God into different Nigerian Languages” he added, “so far the BSN has translated the Bible into 26 Nigerian Languages and has 11 projects on going and the Association recorded its highest distribution of about 14,000 copies of the Bible last year and plans to do more this year.”

    The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev. Dr.  Yakubu Pam on Wednesday visited the Commission’s North Central Zonal Office, Gwagwalada on assessment of the state of preparedness ahead of the 2021 pilgrimage exercise.

    Rev. Pam who led his team on a familiarization visit on Wednesday, 9th February, 2022 disclosed that more number of intending pilgrims would be airlifted to the Holy Land this year than last year.
    Briefing the North Central Zonal office staff on the preparedness of the Commission towards the 2021 General Pilgrimage, the Executive Secretary explained that the zonal officers have more work to do this year.
    “Today I visited the North Central Zonal Office of the Commission to ascertain the situation on ground with the view of addressing them,” said Pam.
    The NCPC Boss charged the zonal staff members to ensure that all hands are on deck so that the commission would be able to realise its 10, 000 target for intending pilgrims this year.
    Earlier, the zonal coordinator of the North Central Zonal Office, Mr. Nicholas Kiva condoled the Executive Secretary over the loss of his mother, and prayed God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
    Kiva also commended Rev. Yakubu Pam for being the first Executive Secretary to pay a familiarization visit to the zone since its relocation from Makurdi to Gwagwalada in 2019.
    He applauded the NCPC boss for the success of the recently concluded State of readiness visit to Israel and Jordan.
    The zonal coordinator further spoke on the need for NCPC to charge the mobilization strategy of the Commission by getting the Church involved in promoting Christian Pilgrimage.
    Meanwhile, during the visit NCPC Boss inspected activities at the zonal office afterwhich, he expressed satisfaction with the staff.
    He was accompanied on the familiarization visit by the Director of Mobilization, Mr. Chris Udegbunam and the Head of operations Mr. Abu Okpanachi.

    Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam led Nigeria Christian pilgrims in Jordan on a marathon prayer against the current security, economic and political crisis in Nigeria.

    Pam, who led the prayer congress in Jordan, during a service at Mount Nebo, affirmed that there would be peace in Nigeria after this Pilgrimage.

    He however noted that without love and tolerance for each another, there will be no peace and development in the country.

    He encouragged Christians to be still in the face of trials and temptations, so that the Lord who is a good Shepherd would see them through and deliver them from all their travails.

    He admonished them to learn how to forgive one another, as Christ would always forgive us, adding that the moral conduct attended by the pilgrims is encouraging and satisfying.

    Rev. Pam expressed gratitude to God that the intercession prayer offered by Nigerians since the pilgrimage started is yielding result in the fight against insecurity in Nigeria.

    “Because of the good report and good testimonies that people are receiving in Nigeria about the pilgrims, people are willing to come over here to pray for the prosperity of our nation.

    “This pilgrimage is very important and significant to Nigeria especially because of what our country is currently facing, what we are doing here is intercession for our country.

    ”I want you to know that we are here on a serious business of intercession for our dear country Nigeria. It is as a result of our intercession in this pilgrimage that we are recording more successful stories in the country.

    “God is with us and we will win the battle. I believe that the battle has already been won, we will only wait for the physical manifestation,” he said.

    He added that the prayer of Christians at the pilgrimage has help Nigeria to remain focus in tackling recent challenges confronting the Nation.

    Meanwhile Rev. Pam has inaugurated four committee amongst the Pilgrims to provide advisory services and policy direction in the area of Agriculture, tourism, ICT, policy formulation and spirituality.

    Pam who also noted that Nigerians are intelligent, smart and also fast learners, could have learnt something in these short period they have spent in Jordan, in some of the areas mentioned above.

    ”We can develop ideas from what we have seen here in Jordan, that can help develop our country, Nigerians are performing wonders in every continent of the world,

    ”We can channel this energy to Nigeria, develop it, empower our youths and make the country a giant again,” he added.

    The Senior Special Adviser to the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. testimony Onifade said God is taking Nigeria out of captivity.

    Onifade who delivered the sermon, took his reading from the book of 2 Samuel 9 vs 3, described Moses as a Prophet chosen by God.

    He noted that God brought Moses to Mount Nebo and showed him the promise land but God said he will not enter the promise land.

    He expressed believe that Nigeria is moving out of it current challenges to the land flowing with milk and honey.

    Pilgrims from Plateau, Bauchi, Enugu, Lagos, Benue, Gombe, Kogi and Osun states attended the prayer service at the Mount Nebo.
