Terrorism sponsors in Nigeria won’t see 2021 – Adeboye

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has warned politicians embezzling government funds and sponsors of terrorism to desist from such acts, hence won’t see 2021.

Adeboye said this during the special monthly thanksgiving service to mark Nigeria’s 60th Independence at RCCG headquarters, Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos on Sunday, September 4.

He also warned countries pretending to love Nigeria but are plotting to destroy her to stop their insidious and myopic tendencies, adding that God will deal with them.

Adeboye said, “There are some people buying weapons for those that are carrying guns who are causing havoc here and there and there are also some nations that are befriending our nation that are not truly our friend, who want us to borrow money so much that we would not be able to repay, knowing fully well that an average borrower would be the servant of the lender as long as he remains a debtor.

“These enemy nations manufacture guns, bullets and rejoice when we have problem so that we can come and buy guns and bullets to kill our people.

”Every terrorists and every sponsor of terrorists in Nigeria would not see the New Year.”

Adeboye lamented the conditions of the nation after 60 years and asked God should arise and end the stagnation.

The  cleric had called for the restructuring of Nigeria.

Speaking at the 60th Independence Day Celebration Symposium organised by RCCG and the Nehemiah Leadership Institute, yesterday, Adeboye said: “Why can’t we have a system of government that will create what I will call the United States of Nigeria? Let me explain. We all know that we must restructure.

” It is either we restructure, or we break up, you don’t have to be a prophet to know that. That is certain – restructure or we break up.”

Pastor Adeboye shuns journalist Interviews after meeting President Buhari

Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, met with President Muhammadu Buhari behind closed-door on Monday.

The meeting was held at the President’s office in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

However, coming out of the meeting, which was also attended by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Daddy G.O, as he is fondly called, shunned journalists.

Others in the meeting was Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the Chief of Staff to the President.

The meeting started around 3pm and ended a few minutes after. Pastor Adeboye did not speak with State House correspondents.

Also, nothing has been heard from the Presidency, which normally issues statements detailing the outcome of such meetings.

However, the meeting may not be unconnected with the controversial section of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAMA, which the President signed into law on August 7, 2020.

Recall that the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) had said that those wailing over the new CAMA should better stop because there is no going back.

CAC said the new act has come to stay in the country despite the public outcry that has greeted it.

The Commission said it was only waiting for the legislature to gazette it for immediate implementation of the law.

The CAMA bill was recently signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari, and was included in his list of achievements for the last one year.

The CAC Registrar-General, Alhaji Garba Abubakar, while speaking to the Commerce Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN) in Abuja wondered why the act was being opposed by religious bodies, especially the churches.

Many churches and Christian leaders have kicked against CAMA, including the RCCG.

Pastor Adeboye states his position on CAMA bill

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has rejected the Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAMA, which was assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The CAMA 2020 bill which was signed on August 7th has received backlash from religious, non-governmental and human rights organisations, who are kicking against some sections of the law particularly section 839.

The new law, ”Section 839 (1) empowers the Commission to suspend trustees of an association and appoint interim managers to manage the affairs of the association where it reasonably believes that- (a) There is or has been misconduct, mismanagement in the administration of the association.”

Reacting to the bill, RCCG’s Head of Media and Public Relations, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi said that Adeboye’s opinion on the issue is not always different from whatever the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN endorsed.

According to Olubiyi, Pastor Adeboye was in alignment with the stand of CAN and PFN.

Recall that the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), last week described amended Company and Allied Matters Act, CAMA, as satanic.

CAN while rejecting the bill, called on President Buhari to halt the implementation of “the obnoxious and ungodly law until the religious institutions are exempted from it

It maintained that the bill will do no good, adding that it is ungodly, reprehensible and an ill-wind.

Speaking to Vanguard, Olubiyi was quoted as saying, “We always align ourselves with whatever the stand of the leadership of CAN and PFN on issues like this. The Redeemed Christian Church of God does not take any decision that is at variance with the stand of CAN and PFN and the same thing applies concerning this very issue.

”Daddy will not take a stand different from the ones of the two organisations, CAN and PFN. CAN and PFN have spoken on the issue of CAMA and as far as the Redeemed Christian Church of God is concerned that is our position too. We are in alignment with that stand,”
