    Tambuwal Orders Recruitment Of 1,000 Graduates, Swears In 20 Permanent Secretaries

    Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has directed the state civil service to recruit 1000 graduates in order to address dearth of qualified in the state.

    This is as the Governor today swore-in twenty newly appointed permanent secretaries to boost service delivery to the people of the state.

    Addressing the new appointees at the council chamber of Government House, Sokoto, Governor Tambuwal instructed the Head of Service to collaborate with the state Teachers Service Board and the ministry for basic education on how to mainstream teachers into the state civil service.

    He said 60% of those to be employed would be teachers while the remaining 40% would be absolved into the administration pool of the civil service.

    Recall that last month the Governor had ordered for the establishment of a Public Service Institute in order to improve the capacity of the bureaucracy in the state.

    Reiterating that the recruitment of more civil servants is informed by the need to inject more staff into the system and provide employment to the youths and inject new blood into the system, Governor Tambuwal commended the new Permanent Secretaries for their services, hard work and patrotism to the state.

    Tambuwal appealed to them to sustain the hard work and commitment they are known for and called on the Head of Service to organize a retreat for them.

    He congratulated the appointees and wished them Allah’s guidance.

    Buhari Approves Redeployment of Nine Perm Secs

    President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the deployment and redeployment of nine permanent secretaries.

    The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoS), Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan issued a circular on the appointments.

    According to a statement by the Deputy Director, Communications, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mohammed Ahmed, the fresh appointees deployed are Udo Okokon Ekanem, Service Policies and Strategy Office, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation; Jafiya Lydia Shehu, Ministry of Information and Culture; and Faruk Yusuf-Yabo, Special Duties Office, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

    The six re-deployed permanent secretaries are Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, Ministry of Aviation to Police Affairs; Nebeolisa Anako, Ministry of Power to Ministry of Budget and National Planning; Temitope Peter Fashedemi, Ministry of Police Affairs to Ministry of Power; and Dr Emmanuel Meribole, Service Policies and Strategic Office to Ministry of Aviation.

    Also redeployed are Dr Adaora Ifeoma Anyanwutaku, Information and Culture to Police Service Commission; and Aliyu Shinkafi Shehu, Ministry of Finance to Ministry of Women Affairs.

    “The handing over and taking over processes are expected to be completed on or before Friday, 26th August, 2022 except for the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning Arm,” the circular said.

    Buhari Presides Over FEC Meeting, Swears In Four Permanent Secretaries

    President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the State House where he also swore in four permanent secretaries.

    The new permanent secretaries include Mrs Beatrice Jeddy-Agba, Kachollom Daju, Malla Shehu Ibrahim, Dr Mary Ogbe.`

    Those physically present at the oath-taking were the President Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari and the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Doctor Folashade Yemi-Esan.

    Also in attendance were the ministers of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; Justice, Abubakar Malami; Agriculture, Mohammed Mahmood; Mines and Steel Development, Olamilekan Adegbite; Labor and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige; Minister of Power, Abubakar Aliyu and that of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, among others.

    Other ministers attended virtually from their various offices in Abuja.

    Shortly after the meeting commenced, the cabinet observed a minute silence for a former Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture; Aviation, Tonye Graham-Douglas, who died recently at the age of 82.

    Governor Udom Emmanuel to swear-in 5 new Permanent Secretaries

    The Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel has appointed five new Permanent Secretaries in the State’s Civil Service.

    The appointments were announced on Saturday, January 2, 2021, by the Head of Civil Service, Effiong E. Essien.

    The appointees are Mr. Ini James Ikie, Mr.  Ini Jackson Etukudo, Mrs. Esther Aniekan Inyang, Mrs. Grace Paulinus Jim, and Mrs. Abasiekeme Victor Essien.

    Mr. Essien stated that the new Permanent Secretaries would be sworn-in on Monday, January 4, at the Banquet Hall, Government House by the State Governor.

    One of the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, Iniobong Jackson Etukudo is a Medical Doctor who served as the Medical Superintendent of General Hospital, Ikot Ekpene.

    Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State on Wednesday inaugurated four new Permanent Secretaries with a call to uphold the integrity of the administration.

    Ganduje, in his address during the inauguration ceremony at the council chamber of the government house, assure of his administration’s continuous support to improve the lives of the people.

    “I am urging you all not to disappoint the administration and you can achieve that by giving your best at all times,’’ he said.

    The newly inaugurated permanent secretaries include Hussaini Umar Ganduje, Ministry for Special Duties and Lawan Abdulwahab, Ministry of Finance.

    Others are, Hussam Musa-Karry, Ministry of Environment and Ahamad Abba-Salisu, Ministry of Works & Infrastructure.

    The state’s Attorney General, Ibrahim Mukhtar administered oath of office to the new permanent secretaries. (NAN)

    President Buhari approves deployment of permanent secretaries

    President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday in Abuja approved the deployment and redeployment of some new and old Permanent Secretaries to different ministries.

    Mrs Olawunmi Ogunmosunle, the Director of Media and Public Relations in the office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja Wednesday.

    She said the circular conveying news of this development, which was signed by Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Acting HCSF, stated that the handing-over/taking-over processes were to be completed immediately.

    “Also, those of Finance (Special Duties) and Aviation are to be completed on or before Jan. 4, 2020, while those of Environment, and Budget and National Planning are expected to be completed on or before Feb. 19, 2020.”

    The circular listed the permanent secretaries to include: Mr Edet Akpan, Industry, Trade and Investment, deployed to Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.

    “Mrs Esther Walson, Niger Delta Affairs, is also deployed to Ministry of Power. Dr Abdulkadir Mu’azu, Mines and Steel Development, is moved to Agriculture and Rural Development, while Dr Mohammed Umar, Agriculture and Rural Development, is deployed to Science and Technology.

    “Equally, Mr Olusade Adesola, Youth and Sports, is deployed to Niger Delta Affairs, while Mr Gabriel Tanimu Aduda, Office of the SGF, is moved to Youth and Sports.

    “Also, Mr Bitrus Bako, Science and Technology, is moved to Petroleum Resources, just as Mr Afolabi Umakhire, Budget and National Planning, is deployed to the Office of HCSF.

    “The rest are Mr Maurice Mbaeri, Police Service Commission, who is moved to Police Affairs and Dr Bakari Wadinga, Office of HCSF, who now goes to the Ministry of  Environment,” the Acting HCSF stated in the circular.

    According to the acting HCSF, the permanent secretaries awaiting posting include: Mr Olusola Olayinka, Budget and National Planning; Mr David Andrew, Office of the HCSF; and Mr Nebeolisa  Anako, Police Service Commission.

    Also awaiting posting are: Mrs Evelyn Ngige, Mr Aliyu Ahmed, Mr Tijjani Umar, Dr Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, Mr Hassan Musa and Mr Temitope Fashedemi.(NAN)
