I’m Not Satisfied With Ganduje’s Performance, Says Kwankwaso

Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has said he is not satisfied with the performance of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

Ganduje’s predecessor said this when he featured on an ARISE Television programme on Friday morning.

The duo were political allies for years.

The relationship, however, turned sour shortly after Ganduje succeeded him as Kano State governor in 2015.
He said though he has nothing personal against Ganduje, he is not just satisfied with his performance.

On his relationship with the governor, he said, “On personal grounds, there is just no issue but on the issue of governance, certainly we are not satisfied with what the government is doing.

“Probably that was even the genesis of the negative relationship that started immediately he was elected. There are certain things they are doing which do not conform with our belief, do not conform with our ideology.”

Kwankwaso made the comment at a time when some political pundits felt both men were about reuniting.

Ganduje had showered encomiums on Kwankwaso during his birthday last week.

The governor had said he cherishes what he termed their long-standing personal, official and political relationship.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Saturday grilled former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso over allegations of abuse of office, diversion of public funds and fraudulent allocation of government properties to cronies.

Kwankwaso, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, was first invited by the EFCC in September but failed to honour the invitation.

An associate of the politician informed Channels Television that Kwankwanso may have been invited in relation to a petition by some retired employees of the Kano State Government.

The retired employees had told the EFCC that the former governor mismanaged pension remittances to the tune of N10 billion between 2011 and 2015, to fund a housing project for his cronies.

EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren did not comment on the interrogation of the former governor when contacted on Saturday.

Kwankwaso explains what Obaseki’s victory means to Nigeria

Former Kano Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has revealed what Gov Godwin Obaseki’s re-election means in the history of Nigeria.

Kwankwaso while congratulating Obaseki in a series of tweets on Monday, said Obasaki’s victory reflects the true choice of the people.

“I am especially congratulating the Edo people for their foresight in re-electing their hardworking and effective Governor, Godwin Obaseki @GovernorObaseki to continue with the excellent work of developing Edo State.

“I also congratulate His Excellency, @GovernorObaseki over this well-deserved victory. You worked very hard for the people of Edo State and they have reciprocated by coming out in droves not only to cast their votes for you but also to defend their votes and ensure that the multitude of election riggers mobilized by agents of doom, from different states, to steal the Edo election were made ineffective.

“Without a doubt, our victory in Edo State was hugely facilitated by the outstanding commitment, resilience, courage and the doggedness of the chairman of our Campaign Council, His Excellency Nyesom Wike (@GovWike) of Rivers State and the entire members of the Campaign Council including all PDP governors. I commend you all as we celebrate the success-for-democracy in Nigeria.”

Kwakwaso also commended representatives of the international community in Nigeria, especially the United State embassy in Nigeria and the United Kingdom embassy in Nigeria for their timely advice to merchants of election malpractice and perpetrators of electoral violence.

“Your advisory to election riggers and promoters of election violence to know that there are consequences, beyond the borders of Nigeria, for their ignominious action was very effective. We thank you for your interest in deepening democracy in our country.

“There is no gainsaying that the Edo Victory is a victory for our great party, the PDP. I, therefore, congratulate our amiable Chairman Uche Secondus @UcheSecondus his entire team. This success is a testimony to your dexterity, political savvy & focused leadership. Congratulations.”
