    How Terrorists Bandits Raided Kaduna Communities, Kidnap 37 Residents

    Bandits have raided three communities – Azara, Jangala and Kadara – in Kagarko and Kachia LGAs of Kaduna State, abducting 37 residents in the last three days.

    The victims were mostly women, including three nursing mothers, and children.

    Our reporter further learnt that the rampaging bandits also gunned down a retired soldier and one of his sons at neighbouring Katambi village, two kilometers away from Kateri town, along the Abuja – Kaduna highway.

    The Sarkin Azara in Kachia local government, Mustapha Ibrahim, confirmed the abduction via telephone chat with our reporter on Thursday.

    He said the bandits, wielding weapons and in large number, invaded Azara community around 12am on Thursday and abducted 10 people.

    According to him, four women, including three nursing mothers and six male adults were among the victims, saying they were asleep in their rooms when the bandits came, woke them up and whisked them away at gunpoint.

    “Before we could alert soldiers who are always on patrol along the highway to come to our rescue, the bandits have already left with their victims,” he said.

    He said the bandits proceeded to a Fulani settlement popularly called (Rugan Alhaji Karbo), a few meters away from Azara, and abducted two herders at the camp.

    “This morning, again, I received a call that bandits invaded Kurutu village and killed a retired soldier and one of his sons and carted away some foodstuff,” he said.

    He further disclosed that 12 people were abducted by the bandits, who invaded Kadara village in Kagarko LGA on Sunday around 10:12 pm.

    He said six among those abducted were members of the same family.

    “Also, 13 people, 12 women and a male adult, were abducted by bandits at Janjala village in Kagarko LGA last Thursday,’’ he said.

    The Madaki of the village, Aliyu Ibrahim, also confirmed the abduction over the phone to our reporter on Thursday.

    He said the bandits came via a bush path, which shared border with Kachia LGA and raided the community, whisking away their victims at gun point.

    “In fact, for the past three to four days, my people have been under siege as a result of attacks by bandits. We now sleep with our eyes open, even as some of my people are leaving the village as I speak now,” he said.

    No immediate report from the police in the state on the incident.

    Terrorists on Monday invaded the family house of the Divisional Police Officer for Dutsi Division, Katsina State Police Command, and killed his mother and younger brother.

    The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, who confirmed the development, said the details were still sketchy.

    Isah said, “The incident is true but we don’t have details yet. Our officers have already gone there but I cannot say more than this for now.”

    It was gathered that the DPO, whose name could not be mentioned for security reasons, was on duty when the terrorists stormed his family house and killed the victims.

    A source in the area said the corpses of the two victims were buried according to Islamic rites on Tuesday.
     
    Meanwhile, policemen in the state arrested a 20-year-old man, Murtala Amme, who was accused of belonging to the camp of a wanted terrorist, Kamilu Buzaru.

     The police said members of the camp were responsible for terrorising communities in Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.

    The policemen attached to the Kankara Division also confirmed the arrest of a 35-year-old man, Ibrahim Dayyabu, who was alleged to be on his way to supply a brand new Honda motorcycle to terrorists inside a forest.

     Isah added “In the course of investigation, Dayyabu confessed to belong to the camp of notorious terrorist known as Mani Doro and has brought over seven motorcycles for the terrorists. Investigation into his case is ongoing.”

    Zagazola reports that multiple airstrikes were conducted by the Air Task Force, Operation Hadin Kai on Nov. 27, 2022, while targeting a convoy of the terrorists at a location giving as Kau-Shoro’a.

    Bodies of the terrorists were scattered all over the place as the surviving insurgents took to their heels.

    The source vowed that the Nigerian Air Force, operating in concert with surface forces, will sustain their offensives against the terrorists in the North-East.

    The Defence Headquarters on Monday published details of 19 wanted terrorists with a reward of N5 million reward for any person who brings information leading to the arrest of any of the insurgents.

    In a statement, the Director of Defence Information, Maj.-Gen. Jimmy Akpor said Nigerians should contact the military on 09135904467 with relevant information that can lead to their capture.

    The statement sighted by Channels Television saw the identities of 19 terrorist commanders who have been wreaking havocs in North-East, North-West and North-Central zones of the country.

    Police Rescue 21 Kidnap Victims In Katsina, Kill Terrorists

    Police in Katsina State on Friday rescued at least 21 kidnap victims comprising 15 women and six children in Dutsinma Local Government Area of the State.

    The victims were rescued at about 0430hrs, after the Police Command received a distress call that terrorists in their numbers on motorbikes, shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles, attacked Buraji and Sabon Sara villages.

    On receipt of the information, Area Commander, Dutsinma, ACP Mohammad Makama, led a team of Police Tactical Units, blocked their exit routes at Gandun Sarki village, engaged them into a fierce gun duel and successfully rescued all the victims.

    The Police Spokesman, SP Gambo Isah in a statement noted that many terrorists were killed and some escaped the scene with gunshots wounds.

    He added that tactical teams are still combing the area with a view of recovering their dead bodies and arresting the injured terrorists as investigation is ongoing.

    36 Terrorists Killed, as Troops Rescue 130 Persons In Borno

    The Nigerian military has said that troops of Operation Hadin Kai neutralized at least 36 Boko Haram Terrorists and rescued about 130 persons within the last two weeks. 

    According to the military, the troops also within the period under review, arrested two persons who are suspected to be major collaborators with the terrorists.

    The Director of Defence media operations, Major General Musa Danmadami disclosed this on Thursday, during the biweekly media briefing at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.

    General Danmadami said the troops of  have arrested the collaborators while they were attempting to withdraw the sum of 14 million naira deposited by a terrorist financier who goes by the name Alhaji Abubakar.

    The military spokesman further disclosed that the two suspects who are in their twenties were arrested following days of investigation by a joint military taskforce.

    He, however, stressed that the details of the financier are still sketchy.

    According to him, a total of 368 terrorists including their families have surrendered to the troops within the same period.

    Two key Boko Haram Terrorists/Islamic State of West Africa province commanders identified as Abu Asiya and Abu Ubaida were killed at Parisu and Sheruri general area within the Sambisa forest.

    General Danmadami added that 36 other suspected Boko Haram Terrorists were arrested while 12 of the insurgent’s logistic suppliers were also apprehend and are all being interrogated in custody.

    President Muhammadu Buhari has consoled Nigerians who lost their loved ones in the recent terrorist attacks.

    Terrorists, in the last week, attacked some communities in Sokoto, Kaduna and Plateau states.

    The President reviewed the situation on Tuesday, according to spokesman Garba Shehu.

    Buhari assures full support from the federal government to the affected states,

    “We have given security forces full freedom to deal with, and bring to end this madness.”

    “I condemn these barbaric attacks on the country. I wish to assure the states of all possible support from the government of the federation.

    “My thoughts are with the bereaved families. May the injured recover quickly”, said the President.

    Terrorists Release Five More Kaduna-Abuja Train Victims

    The abductors of Kaduna-Abuja rail passengers on Tuesday released four more captives.

    Bandits had on March 28, 2022, abducted over 60 Kaduna-Abuja train passengers after killing 14 and wounding several others.

    The abducted passengers have since been released in batches.

    However, a family source of one of the victims told DAILYPOST, that among those released on Tuesday, included Professor Mustapha Umar Imam, a medical doctor at the Usman Dan Fodio University Teaching Hospital (UDUS), Sokoto.

    Imam was reportedly shot while in captivity but was among those released on Tuesday.

    Other passengers who were released are Akibu Lawal, Abubakar Ahmed Rufai, Muktar Shuaibu, and Sidi Aminu Sharif.

    Kaduna-based Publisher, Tukur Mamu, who has backed out of the negotiations for fear of his life confirmed the latest release.

    DSP Mohammed Jalige did not pick up his phone for confirmation.

    Troops of the Guards Brigade have been ambushed by armed bandits in Abuja in an attack which occurred barely 24 hours after terrorists threatened to abduct President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna Governor Nasir el’Rufai in a viral video.

    The troops were said to have been ambushed during a patrol in the area.

    Three of the personnel were said to have been injured during the attack and are currently receiving medical attention.

    A military source told our correspondent that the attack happened while the troops were on patrol.

    The source added that the troops engaged them and successfully repelled the attack.

    The source said, “The troops of the elite Guards Brigade were ambushed along Bwari-Kubwa road. But the ambush was forcefully repelled by the Brigade of Guards troops.

    “The troops were on routine patrol of the area when they were attacked. However, three soldiers were wounded in the attack and they are already being treated at a military hospital in Abuja.

    “The attack happening within the area of Bwari showed that the terrorists are actually within the location and possibly to carry out their plans of attacking the law school in Bwari among other targets in the area.”

    When contacted, the Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Guards Brigade Abuja, Captain Godfrey Abakpa, confirmed the attack, adding that troops were combing the area to apprehend the criminals.

    A terrorist group in the North West has threatened to kidnap President Muhammadu Buhari.

    The terrorists made the threat in a fresh video where they were captured flogging some of their captives.

    This threat is coming a few weeks after the convoy of Buhari was attacked in Katsina State.

    In a new viral video, the daredevil terrorists, who recently attacked the Kuje prison in Abuja and freed their members locked up in the Correctional Centre, are threatening the country’s number one citizen and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State.

    The terrorists, who kidnapped over 60 passengers of the Abuja-Kaduna bound train on March 28, are also threatening to kill those remaining in their captive and also boasting to destroy the country.

    In the viral video, one of the terrorists said that unless the government complied with their demands, they would turn the area into an abattoir.

    “This is our message to the government of Nigeria and just as you have seen these people here, by God’s grace, you will see your leaders; your senators and governors will come before us.

    “These ones you are seeing here, we will keep some as our slaves and sell them off just as our Imam told you in the past,” he said.

    “Just like the Chibok girls that were sold off, we will equally sell these ones as slaves.

    “If you don’t adhere to our demands, we will kill the ones we need to kill and sell the remaining. By God’s grace, El-Rufai, Buhari, we will bring you here,” one of the terrorists further said in Hausa language.
