    U.S Attorney General considers leaving office before Inauguration Day

    The United States Attorney General, William Barr, is considering leaving his post before January 20, the day President Donald Trump leaves office, according to a new report by CNN.

    According to CNN, a source reveals that Barr, a Trump loyalist, is not happy with Trump, writing that Barr “is not someone who takes bullying and turns the other cheek!”

    “He has not made a final decision,” the source said.

    Acording to reports, Trump was frustrated with Barr for saying in an interview that the Justice Department had found no evidence of widespread election fraud.

    According to the Washington post, Trump and Barr had a “contentious,” lengthy meeting inside the West Wing last week Tuesday.

    On Thursday, December 3, Trump refused to say whether he had confidence in Barr, a sign that the attorney general has fallen out of the President’s favor.

    “Ask me that in a number of weeks from now. They should be looking at all of this fraud,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office.

    Barr has faced accusations that he has politicized the Justice Department, by involving himself in the sentencing for Trump’s friend Roger Stone and dropping federal charges against former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

    Barr, a former attorney general under President George H.W. Bush, Barr came out of retirement in 2019 to take over the Justice Department after Trump dismissed former Attorney General Jeff Sessions from the role.

    ‘No way we lost this election’ – Trump continues to lament

    Donald Trump is still lamenting his electoral loss to Joe Biden.

    The US President has refused to concede to Joe Biden since media agencies projected the Democrat won 306 electoral college votes in the November 3 elections.

    Despite losing his legal challenges so far to the electoral results, Trump late Sunday night, November 29, 2020 took to his Twitter page to state that he didnt lose the election.

    In all caps, Trump wrote “NO WAY WE LOST THIS ELECTION’ in reaction to a video by Republican Dan Scavino, showing thousands of Trump fans at a campaign rally.

    In another tweet, Trump said it was impossible for him to lead the Republican party to gain seats in congress, retain the senate while he’ll be the only one to lose.

    He then referred to the November elections as ‘rigged’.

    Except there is a major change in Trump’s legal challenges, he will depart the White House on January 20, 2021.

    US Election: Trump gives condition to vacate White House

    United States President Donald Trump says he will relinquish power if the Electoral College affirms Democrat Joe Biden’s win but he signals he may never formally concede defeat, Bloomberg reports.

    The 74-year-old Republican candidate, who lost his re-election bid, also declined to say if he would attend Biden’s inauguration next year, as is the custom for an outgoing president. “I’ll be honest, I know the answer, but I just don’t want to say it yet,” he said, adding that it is “not right” that Biden has begun picking a cabinet.

    Trump fielded questions from reporters on Thursday for the first time since his election defeat, speaking at the White House after a Thanksgiving teleconference with members of the military.

    When asked by reporter gathered at the White House’s diplomatic room if he would physically leave the building should the Electoral College affirms Biden’s victory, Trump replied, “certainly I will, and you know that.” But he swiftly maintained that there was “massive fraud and massive rigging” in the election, insisting that the court cases challenging the election outcome will continue.

    Trump was further pressed on whether he would ever acknowledge defeat but said it would “be a very hard thing to concede,” even if the Electoral College confirms Biden’s victory. “If they do, they’ve made a mistake,” he said. “This election was a fraud.”

    The Electoral College electors in each state are due to vote on December 14. Certificates recording the electoral vote results in each state must be received by the president of the Senate no later than December 23. Biden is certified as the winner, or leading, in states totaling 306 electoral votes, well above the victory threshold of 270, while Trump got 232 electoral votes.

    Trump acknowledged that the whole world is watching what becomes the fate of American democracy. “The whole world is watching and the whole world is laughing at our electoral process,” he said.

    He, however, declined to say if he would seek the presidency again in 2024, as has been widely rumoured. “I don’t want to talk about 2024 yet,” he replied.

    US Election: “I concede NOTHING’ – Trump continues to reject Joe Biden’s electoral win

    US president Donald Trump has continued to delegitimize Joe Biden’s win in the just concluded election, saying he will keep fighting the electoral results even though his campaign has lost lots of legal challenges in states where he doubted Biden’s win.

    Recall on Monday evening, Trump said on Twitter he had given the General Services Administration (GSA) head, Emily Murphy, permision to begin conducting transition with Joe Biden’s team in the best interest of the country, an indication that Trump was beginning to realize he lost to the Democrat.

    I want to thank Emily Murphy at GSA for her steadfast dedication and loyalty to our Country. She has been harassed, threatened, and abused – and I do not want to see this happen to her, her family, or employees of GSA. Our case STRONGLY continues, we will keep up the good…

    — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 23, 2020
    …fight, and I believe we will prevail! Nevertheless, in the best interest of our Country, I am recommending that Emily and her team do what needs to be done with regard to initial protocols, and have told my team to do the same.

    But Tuesday afternoon, November 24, Trump comtinued to push back on Biden’s claim to the election, saying the GSA does not determine who the next US president will win. While he also retweeted his supporter who said he wasn’t conceding .

    US Election: Trump finally admit Biden’s victory, but insist the election was “rigged”

    President Donald Trump has for the first time acknowledged that President-elect Joe Biden won the US presidential election.

    Trump made the admission in a tweet along with more unfounded claims of votes being unfairly and deliberately stacked against him.

    He tweeted that “NO VOTE WATCHERS OR OBSERVERS” were allowed in the polling places, but this is simply not true and can be easily disputed by the witness statements and video evidence of polling place observers watching the ballot count all across the country.

    The tweet read in full;

    He won because the Election was Rigged. NO VOTE WATCHERS OR OBSERVERS allowed, vote tabulated by a Radical Left privately owned company, Dominion, with a bad reputation & bum equipment that couldn’t even qualify for Texas (which I won by a lot!), the Fake & Silent Media, & more!

    US Presidential election: Trump acknowledges for the first time that Biden won, but says the election was "rigged"

    It is a significant acknowledgement from Mr Trump, who, despite losing the Electoral College by 74 and popular vote by 5 million, has refused to follow tradition and accept the result.

    Last week he became the first president since 1992 to fail to get re-elected, following projections Mr Biden had successfully swung the key states of Pennsylvania, Arizona and Georgia to win the White House.

    US Election: Prominent US lawmakers advise Trump not to concede defeat yet

    Prominent Republicans in the US Congress, on Sunday, urged President Donald Trump to “fight hard” and not concede to Joe Biden in the race for the White House.

    They claimed that Trump’s allegations of fraud must be investigated.

    Some of the Republicans also told Trump that legal challenges must be allowed to play out before he takes the next action.

    Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said on Fox News: “We will work with Biden if he wins, but Trump has not lost.

    “Do not concede, Mr. President. Fight hard.”

    Other top Republicans were, however, more careful with their comments, but nonetheless refused to acknowledge Biden’s victory, saying legal battles must happen and vote counting must continue.

    “What we need in the presidential race is to make sure every legal vote is counted, every recount is completed, and every legal challenge should be heard.

    “Then and only then that America will decide who won the race,” Kevin McCarthy, the top Republican in the House of Representatives added.

    ‘Election not over’ – Trump reacts to Biden’s projection as winner

    The campaign of United States President Donald Trump has declared that the election is not over.

    The team dismissed that projection of Democratic candidate Joe Biden as winner is false.

    Matt Morgan, Trump 2020 Campaign General Counsel, made the declaration in a statement on Friday.

    “This election is not over. The false projection of Joe Biden as the winner is based on results in four states that are far from final. Georgia is headed for a recount, where we are confident we will find ballots improperly harvested, and where President Trump will ultimately prevail.”

    The official said there were many irregularities in Pennsylvania, including election officials prevent volunteer legal observers from having meaningful access to vote counting locations.

    “We prevailed in court on our challenge, but were deprived of valuable time and denied the transparency we are entitled to under state law. In Nevada, there appear to be thousands of individuals who improperly cast mail ballots.”

    Morgan reiterated that the President is on course to win Arizona outright, despite the “irresponsible and erroneous ‘calling’ of the state for Biden” by some media organizations.

    The statement said Biden is only relying on the states for his “phony claim” on the White House.

    Morgan added that once the election is final, President Trump will be re-elected.

    US Elections: Biden overtakes Trump in Georgia

    Joe Biden, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party has overtaken President Donald Trump with most votes in the state of Georgia, United States.

    The candidates had been locked in a virtual dead heat for much of Thursday November 5, with each controlling about 49.4 percent of the vote, but with Trump maintaining a slight lead. As absentee ballots were counted early Friday, Biden pulled ahead with 917 more votes.

    Flipping Georgia, a state last won by a Democrat in 1992, and where Trump won by more than 200,000 votes four years ago, would represent a significant political shift. But the state has shown signs of trending blue: When Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016, he did so by only five percentage points, a far slimmer margin than Republicans enjoyed in previous presidential elections.

    Biden’s late surge in this year’s count, thanks to his dominance in Atlanta, Savannah and the increasingly Democrat-friendly suburbs around both, transformed what had seemed to be a safe Trump state in early tabulations on Tuesday into one of the closest contests in the nation.

    If Biden sustains the win, President Trump who needs Georgia to win will no longer have a pathway to claim victory in the presidential election.

    The latest result is computed as follows;

    GA Presidential Election Results – Biden takes the Lead

    Biden (D): 49.39.% ( 2,449,371 votes)

    Trump (R): 49.37% ( 2,448,454 votes)

    Biden Margin: (+917) Estimated: > 99% votes in

    US Election: President Trump gives reasons as he rejects election results

    President Donald Trump on Thursday rejected the presidential election result still being counted in some states.

    The US general elections were concluded on Tuesday and counting has continued since then.

    Trump said there has been a lot of shenanigans, insisting that he was winning in all the key locations but suddenly his lead started getting miraculously whittled away.

    While the incumbent is angry that mail-in votes are still being counted, some critics have claimed that Trump lost ground in some of the states because he actively discouraged his supporters from voting by mail, while Democrat Joe Biden urged his voters to use postal ballots.

    It is the postal votes that are now being tallied in the key states.

    Speaking from the White House on Thursday, Trump, who had on Wednesday said he has won the election, added, “We were winning in all the key locations, by a lot actually, and then our numbers started getting miraculously whittled away in secret and they wouldn’t allow legally permissible observers.

    “There’s been a lot of shenanigans and we can’t stand for that in our country.”

    US networks pull the plug on Trump’s live address over ‘false claim’

    Several US TV networks late on Thursday halted live coverage of Donald Trump’s first public appearance since election night after concluding that the president was spreading disinformation.

    Trump unleashed a flood of incendiary and unsubstantiated claims in a 17-minute address, insisting that Democrats were using “illegal votes” to “steal the election from us.

    Trump began his remarks by claiming that Democrats were committing “fraud” and trying to “steal” the election.  He opened his Thursday speech with referencing ballots counted after Tuesday November 3, which have moved challenger Joe Biden close to victory, as illegal.

    MSNBC moved fastest, with anchor Brian Williams cutting in just 35 seconds into Trump’s remarks to fact-check. The cable news network did not return to the president’s comments in the White House pressroom.

    On the broadcast side, all three networks carried Trump’s speech, with it running during East Coast evening news broadcasts in much of the country, starting just after 6:45 EST. ABC cut away before CBS and NBC, with ABC News anchor David Muir breaking in to correct the record after the president alleged illegal votes were being counted and that opponents were attempting to steal the election.

    Explaining the decision of cutting off the President later on an ABC News primetime election special, Munir said;

    “(President Trump) knew exactly what he was doing, this large audience across the broadcast networks, in coming on in the middle of our newscasts tonight. We knew when we heard that – ‘if you count legal votes, I easily win, if you count illegal votes, they could try to steal the election’ – that it was time to pull out of that and fact-check it in real time.

    “We’re not witnessing anyone stealing anything tonight. This is democracy and we asked the American people to be patient.”

    NBC and CBS also eventually interrupted, with anchors and correspondents correcting the president’s statements.

    Explaining the reason for cutting off President Trump, MSNBC’s Williams said;

    “OK, here we are again in the unusual position of not only interrupting the president of the United States, but correcting the president of the United States. There are no illegal votes that we know of. There has been no Trump victory that we know of.”

    On CNBC, former Fox News anchor Shepard Smith explained he was taking an unprecedented step in cutting off the president because what he was saying “in large part, was absolutely untrue.”

    Smith told viewers;

    “Never in my 30-year career have I ever interrupted a president of the United States. We’ve held back from doing so over and over and over while others have. But if any other human being were using our platform of influence to lie to our viewers, we would stop them. And frankly, enough’s enough”
