The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), in collaboration with the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), has held a strategic meeting with the Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) to enhance efficiency and service delivery in Kano. The meeting, hosted at TCN’s Kano Regional Office, focused on improving electricity supply, reducing losses and strengthening coordination among key power sector stakeholders.
Acting General Manager, Transmission, Kano Region, M. K. Bello, said sustained collaboration is critical to achieving reliable power supply across the region. Leading the KEDCO delegation, Head of Industrial Customers, Jamilu Salisu Ahmad, called for support in deploying smart and check meters on feeders. He said the initiative would improve monitoring, detect irregularities and reduce energy losses within the network.
Participants also discussed operational strategies aimed at strengthening service delivery and ensuring more efficient electricity distribution. All parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued engagement and joint initiatives to improve power supply for customers in Kano and surrounding areas.
