Tension as suspected herdsmen massacre 20 in S/Kaduna LGA

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani Herders have reportedly attacked Sankwab community of Zango Kataf LGA of Kaduna state, killing not less than 20 people and injuring several others

Reliable sources from the area told journalist that the invaders stormed the community on Sunday morning after midnight and started s͎h͎o͎o͎t͎i͎n͎g͎ sporadically, k͎i͎l͎l͎i͎n͎g͎ a͎n͎d͎ b͎u͎r͎n͎i͎n͎g͎ h͎o͎u͎s͎e͎s͎ while the occupants scampered for safety.

Sources also alleged that a few of the local guards keeping vigil were able to engaged the invaders, but it took the swift intervention of military operatives to repel the attacks.

The locals therefore commended the swift response of the military whom, without their intervention, the suspected herdsmen would have wipe out the whole community.

No official statement have been issued from the police state command at the time of filing this reported neither was there any response from police spokesman DSP Muhammed Jalige when contacted.
