“Tension Mounts as Eight Soldiers and Policemen Feared Killed in Imo State”

The Imo State Police Command has issued a stern promise to apprehend the culprits responsible for the brutal murder of security personnel in Umualumaku, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.

In a shocking incident, armed assailants wreaked havoc in Umualumaku, causing the deaths of approximately eight security operatives, including soldiers, policemen, and members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.

The attack, which occurred around 9:30 am, sent shockwaves through the local residents. Members of the Joint Task Force, who were traveling in two Hilux vans, were not only killed but their patrol vehicles were also set ablaze by the attackers. Tragically, none of the security personnel survived, as they were burnt alive inside their operational vehicles.

Henry Okoye, the spokesperson for the state Police Command, confirmed the incident to  and assured the public that a thorough investigation was underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the gruesome killings. However, he could not confirm the exact number of security operatives who lost their lives during the attack.

A resident who wished to remain anonymous reported a significant influx of security personnel from various agencies, including soldiers, into the community following the killings. The arrival of heavily armed security forces prompted panic among the locals, causing many to flee their homes. Reports suggest that a joint team of security personnel, including those from Umuahia, were deployed to the area in response to the incident.

Another witness named Magnus disclosed that he had seen the security operatives just moments before they were tragically set ablaze.
