Formerly in Support of the Move

A group representing the Hausa people of Nigeria’s Hausa land sharply disagrees with their Fulani counterparts regarding the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister’s decision to employ an Israeli security outfit in Abuja.

The Hausa ethnic tribe, operating under the banner of the Hausa People of Hausaland Emancipator, has publicly expressed their support for the move by FCT Minister Barrister Enyesom Wike to engage an Israeli security outfit in Abuja, as well as any other security measures deemed necessary.

In a statement released on Friday and signed by the group’s leader, Haj. Kalthoum Alumbe Jitami of the Hausa People of Hausaland Emancipator, they have accused Fulani elites and clerics of spreading misleading notions about Israel being an enemy.

“We stand behind the unverified information suggesting that you plan to enlist an Israeli security outfit in Abuja, along with any other security measures you find essential. We recommend that similar measures be proposed to the President, given the current state of insecurity in the country.

“We reject the erroneous belief propagated by Fulani elites and clerics that Israel is an adversary of Muslims. We identify Fulani elites and clerics as sources of discord within both Christianity and Islam.

“We are aligned with you, offering our prayers for your divine protection and success. We anticipate your triumph in this country and have faith in your ability to ensure peaceful coexistence. We support your vision for the FCT and have confidence in your leadership to restore Nigeria to its former glory.

“We implore vigilance against the Fulani’s attempts to exert dominance over both Christianity and Islam in Nigeria for their selfish interests. We uphold our commitment to progress, security, peaceful coexistence, education, and the promotion of unity among various ethnic, religious, and tribal groups. May God’s presence always be with you.

In a previous statement titled “Open Letter to the Honourable Minister of FCT, Abuja, Barr. Nyeson Ezenwo Wike,” the group assured Wike of their unwavering support, acknowledging his dedication, courage, and patriotic leadership in implementing security measures within the FCT administration.

“Your Honor, we, the Hausa people of Hausa land in Nigeria, extend our sincere congratulations and gratitude to you for the security measures you are implementing in the FCT administration.

“We assure you of our steadfast support while acknowledging your commitment and courage to deliver justice, good leadership, and patriotism.

In light of ongoing attacks on your person and character assassination attempts by disgruntled elements within the Fulani ethnic group, with the intent to incite ethnic and religious discord over your appointment as FCT Minister, it is vital that you differentiate between “Fulanism” and Islam.

It is in the spirit of “Fulanism” that Fulani clerics like Sheikhs Ahmed Gumi, Abdalla Gadonkaya, Isa Pantami, and Ibrahim Kaduna continue to depict your person and administration negatively. We remain steadfast in our support for you and your administration.

This is because we understand the distinction between religion and politics. No one can manipulate us to engage in terrorism against any individual or group of people.

We call on Nigerians to promote unity through elections by supporting worthy candidates, regardless of their religious or ethnic backgrounds. We pray for the continued success of your leadership and hope that the presidency is your future achievement.

We strongly recommend the inclusion of a Hausa social media team in your information management to ensure accurate communication. This will safeguard your administration against any media propaganda in the Hausa language and assist you in properly informing the public.

We prioritize peaceful coexistence and the preservation of basic human rights, which have been undermined due to the Fulani’s proclivity for propaganda and misinformation.”
