Tinubu Condoles Family of Late Senator Solomon Ewuga, Hails Him as Exemplary Leader

By Francis Wilfred

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has condoled with the family of the late Senator Solomon Ewuga, describing him as an exemplary leader and committed patriot whose contributions to nation-building remain unforgettable. The President’s message was delivered in Abuja by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, CON, who led a Federal Government delegation on a condolence visit to the Ewuga residence.

According to a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Segun Imohiosen, the President expressed deep sorrow over the senator’s passing, noting that Senator Ewuga stood out as a prominent stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a national figure whose service spanned politics, broadcasting, public administration, and community development.

Delivering the President’s condolence message, Senator Akume described the late Ewuga not only as a distinguished politician but also as a cherished personal friend and colleague of many decades.

“I was present at the night of tribute. Solomon and I were very good friends. We were classmates at St. Louis College, Jos, and later at the University of Ibadan. Politics also brought us together,” he said.

He recalled Senator Ewuga’s service as Deputy Governor, Minister, party secretary in Plateau State, broadcaster, and dedicated public servant, noting that his immense contributions strengthened the APC and advanced national unity.

“He was generous, humane, and committed to the nation. While we may miss him on earth, the angels welcome him. We will continue to support you, and you should not hesitate to reach out whenever the need arises,” the SGF added.

Senator Akume conveyed President Tinubu’s prayers that God grants the family comfort and strength while reassuring them of the government’s continued support.

Responding on behalf of the bereaved family, Mrs. Josephine Ewuga expressed heartfelt appreciation to President Tinubu for honouring their late patriarch and recognising his lifelong service to the country.

“I am humbled by this visit. This show of love and recognition reflects the value of the service my husband gave to the nation and to the APC family. We thank Mr. President and the delegation for standing with us,” she said.

She further pledged the family’s continued support for the success of the current administration.

The delegation included the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Permanent Secretaries, and other senior government officials.
