Tinubu, Ganduje Strategize Apc’s Bright Future Ahead of 2027

By: Dr Sagir S Buhari FCIA

As Sun Tzu once said, “Know yourself, know your opponent, and know the terrain; you can fight a hundred battles with no danger of defeat.”

In the context of Nigerian politics, understanding the complex landscape, knowing the strengths and weaknesses of opponents, and leveraging the right strategies can be crucial for success.

This principle is particularly relevant as we analyze the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its leadership. Nigeria’s politics is a complex and dynamic landscape shaped by diverse ethnic, religious, and regional interests.

As Africa’s largest democracy and most populous country, Nigeria’s political decisions have significant domestic and international implications.

Indeed, when President Bola Ahmed Tinubu chose the former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to take over the leadership of the APC after the resignation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, I smiled, knowing he had made the right choice.

Having served as Dr. Ganduje’s Director-General of Research and Documentation Directorate at Kano State Government House from 2015 to 2023, I witnessed his exceptional leadership skills and political acumen, which inspired me to write a book for him titled “Master of the Game of Politics and Leadership I and II.

” As the 2027 elections approach, I foresee President Tinubu as a strong contender for a second term. Dr. Ganduje’s appointment is a wise decision, leveraging his experience and expertise to strengthen the party.

By the first quarter of 2026, the APC under Dr. Ganduje’s dynamic leadership will likely witness a massive influx of governors, senators, House of Representatives members, and state assembly members decamping to the party.

The synergy between President Tinubu and Dr. Ganduje will prove to be a formidable force in Nigerian politics.

The APC’s growth trajectory will be fueled by Dr. Ganduje’s inclusive and reconciliatory approach, which has earned him respect across party divides. His leadership style will attract politicians seeking stability.
