Tinubu pumps N300 billion into infrastructural development across satellite towns in Area Councils – Wike

The FCT Minister Barr Nysome Wike has disclosed that in one year ,President Bola Tinubu has injected over 300 billion Naira into infrastructural development projects in satellite towns across the six Area Councils in the Federal capital Territory, FCT.
Wike made this known on Tuesday during the commissioning ceremony of the re-constructed of the 9 kilometers Paikom- Kore- Ibwa road at the Gwagwalada Area Council.

The minister said, “President believes that governance is not only for you to sit in your office and dish out orders. Mr. President believes in governance, you must go to the people, you must discuss with the people, you must ask them what their problems are. And that is what we are doing with you, is it not?

While giving a breakdown of the total expenditure committed into satellite town development, Wike revealed that Paikom – Kore- Ibwa road was reconstructed at the sum of 8.5 billion Naira, while the total presidential value of over N50 billion Naira has been committed for one Area Council and the development of satellite towns.
He said, “So, when you ask, what has Mr. President done? put it on record now. If you have your biro, write it down. See what he has done for the people of the Gwagwalada area council.”

“Now, if you calculate this total amount, I have not added the total police divisions that we are building in Gwagwalada. As we speak now, to enhance the security of this area.”

” In Aguma palace, Mr. President has committed 22 billion Naira, and that road will be commissioned in May this year, during the second anniversary of Mr. President, he assured.
The minister noted that a total of 16.5 billion Naira has been expended on completion and renovation of five secondary schools in Gwagwalada namely ,”The School For The Gifted Gwagwalada, Government Secondary School Gwagwalada, GSS Abagada , GSS Tungan Maje, GSS Giri.

The minister further promised to do more for residents of Gwagwalada by building a bridge in addition to the road.
He said, ” Cordinator of the STDD. Satellite Town Development Department, Abdulkadir Kulifu make sure that you scoop the bridge now, so I will include it in our 2025 statutory budget.”
Wike thanked the National Assembly for their usual support, adding that no other minister of any city before him has had it so easy.
Earlier, the Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud appreciated the community members for their patience and cooperation during the construction period.
Let us continue to safeguard this road, use it responsibly, and collaborate to ensure more developmental strides in the future, she admonished them.
May this road bring lasting benefits to our community and serve as a beacon of unity and progress, Mahmoud said.
