A devastating incident shook the Ago Palace Way of Okota in Lagos State, where chaos unfolded following a tragic accident. Four lives were lost, including a pregnant woman and her two children, in an accident involving a commercial tricycle.

In this heartbreaking event, not only did the passengers lose their lives, but the tricycle operator also lost his life. The accident occurred on a Tuesday morning, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

According to reports from The Sun, the tricycle operator found himself in a precarious situation as he was being pursued by a LASTMA (Lagos State Traffic Management Authority) official demanding N200 from him. In his attempt to evade the pursuit, he lost control of his vehicle and collided with the woman, who was accompanying her children to school.

The residents of the area, incensed by this tragedy, took matters into their own hands and confronted the LASTMA official. His current whereabouts remain unknown. Additionally, angered residents erected roadblocks and set up bonfires, disrupting traffic in the vicinity.

It’s worth noting that this tragic incident follows closely on the heels of another boat mishap in Niger State, which occurred about a month ago in Gbajibo, Mokwa Local Government Area. In that unfortunate event, twenty-four people lost their lives in a boat accident, primarily local farmers from Gbajibo, Ekwa, and Yankeiade. The incident, which happened at approximately 8 a.m. on September 10th, resulted in the loss of several lives, with some individuals still missing. The community mourned as the victims were laid to rest amid tears.
