Two Arrested for Allegedly Slitting Neighbour’s Throat in Kwara State

In a shocking incident in Ilorin, Kwara State, two suspects, Abdullateef Yakubu and Yakubu Olanrewaju, both residing in Shao Garage area, were apprehended by the Kwara State Police Command. The arrests were made in connection with the alleged act of slitting the throat of their neighbour following a disagreement.

The distressing event unfolded around midnight on Monday in the Shao Garage area of Ilorin, situated in the Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State. According to sources, the victim, Abubakar Babatunde, was found in a critical condition with his throat slit when his brother, AbdulRazaq Babatunde, responded to the commotion alerted by a resident.

Abubakar was swiftly rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, stated that the matter had been reported, and two individuals were taken into custody in connection with the alleged crime. She assured that further actions would be taken pending the completion of their investigations.
