By Isaac Kertyo

Two persons, Oloruntoyin Abdullahi (31) and Ayodele Kazeem (26) have been remanded in police custody for killing a female teenager with a pestle.

The teenager, Ebun Adesetimi, was killed after the suspects allegedly hit her head with a pestle at about 5.40 pm on January 24 at No 1, Otiko Street, Okuta Elerinla, Akure.

Police Prosecutor, Obadasa Ajiboye, informed the court that the offence was contrary to Section 316 and punishable under Section 9 of the Criminal Code, Cap 37, Vol 1 Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

The pleas of the defendants were not taken.

Obadasa, however, made an oral application to remand the defendant in prison custody pending advice from the DPP.

Presiding Magistrate, Damilola Sekoni, ordered remand of the suspects pending advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

He adjourned the case till February 25, 2022 for ruling on remand application.
