Uba Sani to Appointees: Focus on Citizens’ Interests

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Governor Uba Sani has reminded political office holders that their primary focus must be the citizens of Kaduna State, emphasizing that they are public servants and the people’s interests must come first.

The governor gave this charge during the swearing-in ceremony of newly appointed officials, including the Commissioner for Education, Professor Abubakar Sani Sambo; Commissioner for Youth Development, Barrister Gloria Ibrahim; and the Head of Service, Mrs. Jummai Bako, along with other senior government officials.

Governor Sani urged the new appointees to contribute meaningfully to the administration’s goals, saying, “You must think outside the box while keeping the box in view.”

He called on them to “roll up your sleeves and hit the ground running,” adding: “You have been called to serve the good people of Kaduna State because you all possess the skills and competence to contribute effectively to the rebuilding and renewal of our dear state.”

He further emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating, “It is by working as a team that we shall succeed. We must avoid working in silos. If we operate independently, with limited communication or collaboration, our success will be hindered.”

According to the governor, the administration has achieved significant progress in transforming both rural and urban communities through massive infrastructural development, as well as the revival and revitalization of the health and education sectors.

“In the last two years, the government has been tackling poverty head-on and strengthening our partnership with security forces to secure our dear state,” he added.

Other officials sworn in include Hon. Ado Dogo Audu, Counsellor on Political Matters; Ahmad Shehu Haruna, Special Adviser on Economic Matters; Hon. Abubakar Shehu Giwa, Special Adviser on Political Affairs; and Hon. Kabiru Yakubu Jarimi, Special Adviser on Local Government Affairs
