UNILAG Alumni Awards Scholarships to 28 FCT Students

By Joyce Remi- Babayeju

The University of Lagos Alumni Association, FCT Chapter, has awarded scholarships to 28 outstanding but indigent senior secondary school students across the six area councils of Abuja.

The scholarship covers school fees, levies, and examination costs including WAEC and NECO.

Vice Chairperson of the association, Mrs. Julia Davis, said beneficiaries were selected based on academic performance, including students with special needs.

She noted that the initiative, now in its third year, remains an annual intervention aimed at supporting education among underprivileged students.

Representing the FCT Mandate Secretary for Education, Hajiya Fatima Gambo Babba commended the initiative, stating it will ease the financial burden on parents.

The association urged individuals and organizations to support similar efforts to improve access to education.
