Update: Emefiele’s Case Adjourned to January 18, 2024

The Federal Capital Territory High Court has postponed the trial continuation in the alleged procurement fraud case involving former Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele. The accusations relate to the awarding of a contract for 43 vehicles totaling N1.2 billion to a CBN staff member. Emefiele, currently at the Kuje Correctional Centre, was granted bail at N300 million with specific conditions, including producing two sureties with property titles in the Maitama district of Abuja. As of now, he has not fulfilled these bail conditions.
